McFarlane ToysMovie Maniacs Series 3 Action Figure Shaft John Shaft

I'm not at all your average collector of action figures. Truth to tell, I've never seen the movie "Shaft" (heresy!). I only know Samuel Jackson from STAR WARS, as my favorite Jedi aside from Yoda and Obi-wan. (So sue me.)That said: this is REALLY a well-made action figure, if stiff in the limbs. It's solid, durable, has a really characteristic facial expression, has good classic clothing...you don't need to take this action figure as John Shaft if you don't want to (I don't - he inspires a character of my own in my fictional writing), but if you do, you can display him on an equally solid stand complete with a little commemorative poster. I must say that the stand is rather creepy, being based on the motif of piled skulls and bones; that has to do with the company that sponsors this commemorative edition (it specializes in horror movies, seemingly).

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my teenage son. He is a big fan of Samuel L. Jackson, although he didn't particularly like the "Shaft" movie. Still, what could be better than a badass Samuel L. Jackson action figure. I can't wait to see the expression on his face when he opens the package.

McFarlane Toys has been the front runner in the action figure area for years. No one sets the bar higher, than McFarlane. The Shaft figure is not totally articulated, but, thats okay....he stands there and looks cool !!!

My brother wanted this figure so freaking bad that I bought it for him, it was in brand new condition. He is happy and I survived another birthday.
