When I got the battery I put it into my 2008 MacBook unibody and ran it through a couple of cycles to get it calibrated, and for a while it worked just fine! Over the course of a couple weeks the battery when from about two hours of use up to about three, and that's what I got. From the moment I unplugged it at 100% until I ran it down to about 5% was about three - three and a half hours. And it was great! That was back in March. It is now the middle of September (about 6 months on) and when I unplug the computer at 100%, after a minute it will dip down to 75%, run for about one hour - two hours, get to about 30%-20% and then the computer will run out of power and turn off without warning. I did a test and plugged my computer in to charge. It got up to 84% and then a couple minutes later it shot up to 100%. It also doesn't seem to want to charge when the computer is asleep anymore. Close the lid at 50% and plug it in for a few hours, go back to use it and it's still at 50%. So, longevity of this battery seems to be very short. After six months and I've already lost about 25% capacity of the battery. I ran a battery health app I got from the app store and it still shows the battery as decent. (As of this writing I charged the computer to 100% and unplugged the battery, it almost immediately dropped to 86%, but with just Safari running shows about three hours and forty-four minutes of usage, though we'll see how accurate that is). Wish I could get my hands on a new OEM battery from Apple. Time will tell if the battery will degrade any further.Update - February 2017: Coming up on a year of use. The battery suddenly started being able to retain a decent charge, but then one morning I woke up to find that my laptop wouldn't power on. I suspect the battery took a dump on me in the middle of the night, because it still says "battery not charging" and will only turn on now if it's plugged into a power source. Dropping my rating down to two stars.

Lizone stands by their products. I purchased this battery for my MBP-ealry 2011 model in March 16. When it lost its battery charge in Feb '17, I was pleased to find it was still under the 18 month warranty. I contacted Lizone and received a prompt reply letting me know another one was in the mail. The new Lizone battery has been working great so far. I'm only on the 2nd power cycle for it. I followed the instructions to a 'T' for the first one & am doing the same for this replacement battery. I'm hoping to get 2-3 years out of this battery as the initial OEM battery lasted just about 5 years.

So far, so good. I installed this in my late 2008 MacBook a few days ago. It registered as 81% charged. The manual says to let it discharge to 5%. Of course, I didn't catch it 5%; it actually completely discharged. I plugged the laptop in and it registered 0% with 2 1/2 hours charge time. After that it registered a complete 100% charge. Works as advertised :)update: 9/30/2016...So after about 6 months (purchased in January 2016) of use, this battery is now dead. I'll need to contact the seller to initiate the 18-month exchange policy. Hopefully that won't be too much of a hassle.

Granted, I've only had this battery for a few days, but it seems to be working really well! I cleared out my old MacBook (late 2007) and gave it to my son. It was working well but the batter was shot. With this new battery, it is just as fast as my new MacBook Pro (late 2016) - we tested it! The battery arrived quickly and was packaged well so as not to be damaged. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has an old Mac that they are not ready to let go of.

I was torn between buying a new macbook pro or adding a battery to my already wonderful macbook pro. Best decision I ever made. The new batter is awesome. Charges fast and retains charge for extended amount of time. This is a much better deal than buying another macbook which cost 13x more than just buying a battery.

The battery of my 2008 MacBook was completely damaged, staying charged for only five minutes. I bought this battery and it was very easy to change. I charged it overnight and now my MacBook has a new life. It gives about 3-4 hours of life. The product arrived on time and very well and safely packaged.

This battery started out okay -- I got maybe one hour of moderate use with it. After about three months I couldn't get more than a half hour, and now I basically need to keep the computer plugged in constantly because it only lasts a few minutes. It wasn't expensive, so I didn't have high hopes, but the reviews gave me some optimism. I would not buy again, but I'm not horribly upset given the price.
