When my brother's laptop died recently and the "Pros" said it was the mother board charging circuit we took a chance and ordered this battery as a replacement. It works PERFECTLY, saving my brother hundreds of dollars in repairs or in a replacement laptop (and allowed us to rescue his files!) The 12 cell means an extended battery life - not quite double the time but long enough my brother commented that he is not charging his laptop as frequently.The battery is thicker, so the laptop now sits with a slight tilt, this is easier on the wrist AND allows better air circulation under the laptop allowing both the laptop and the battery to remain at a cooler operating temperature. Great battery, I wish they made one for my laptop!UPDATE: Within the week my brother called with an issue with the new battery. After closer inspection I believe this 12 cell battery is fine (hoping anyway) and the issue is with the power cord so I have now ordered a replacement power cord for the laptop. I will update this review once we know if the issue is a defective battery or a bad power cord. Stay tuned...2015 update - with this new battery and a new charger, the laptop is still functioning perfectly as of July 2015.

Definitely does the job. Since it is a longer life battery, it adds some thickness to your laptop, but I find it is worth the extra battery life.

I received the wrong battery. I thought of ordered for hp 4510. Came fast though

I expected the battery to be authorized HP battery since the picture showed so I expected it to be so. Turns out it is a chinese battery with no branding.

Received sooner than expected. Exactly what I needed.
