Ingredients not 100% as advertised
They need to update their listed ingredients to reflect the product properly. I was anticipating it to have turmeric in it, as it is a listed ingredient & I understand it's health value, but it doesn't. I would need to use a blender if I wanted to add it properly myself but that would make a horrible mess of powder everywhere. Beyond that, this product is alright. It's been about a month of use now between my boyfriend and I (3x a day use total between us), still have nearly a full container. No miraculous experiences but it's a natural alternative to fluoride-free paste. I still occasionally use my natural no chemicals toothpaste because it's faster & fresher feeling, I don't know if I would buy more clay once we run out, my boyfriend might because he's more of a hippie than I am (the more organic, the better) & likes the novelty of telling people we brush our teeth with dirt. When traveling, it's nice to be able to put this in your carry on, since they don't make travel size organic toothpaste, just make sure to tap the container when it's in upright position before opening it or you'll get powder everywhere.Smell/Taste: You can only smell maybe a couple ingredients, it's very very subtle though, I can only smell mint & maybe clove. The only thing you taste is dirt. If you ever got dirt/sand in your mouth, it's like that, but very powdery & only a little gritty. It's a fine powder but you will feel slight grit til you rinse it out fully. It has bigger white chunk looking pieces but when I touched them they crumbled into dust, I'm guessing that's just the white kaolin powder. Haven't found any rocks or worms like other reviewers claim (humorously or not). Taste & texture is not awful, it's just different. Your teeth will feel cleaner but your mouth will still taste like you didn't brush your teeth, not fresh at all, causes me to question if I brushed my teeth today, soon after brushing, so still need mouthwash or something. Brushing your tongue with the clay does not help breath at all.To use: I just run my toothbrush under water for a second, flick the excess water off & just dab it directly into the clay, lightly tap off the excess powder that didn't get wet back into the container. To resettle the clay I just lightly tap the side of it against the counter, it's not messy as long as you're gentle with handling it.Time: It takes longer to brush your teeth, you'll need to go back over everything a couple times to brush the grit off after rinsing your brush & spitting. Occasionally you'll still have a tiny grey blob on your gum line that you can pick off & may get a clay grain stuck between your teeth, easily handled with floss.Whitening?: I can't say how well it whitens teeth, I use it once a day & my teeth aren't extremely white but much whiter than my boyfriend's who uses its 2x a day. Neither of us smoke or drink staining beverages.Ingredients from a June 2016 order:NON GMO Bentonite claycoconut activated charcoalcalcium carbonatemyrrhcinnamongingerpeppermintkaolinmint leafclovesHimalayan pink salt**NO Turmeric, lemon or Birch Tree Sugar Xylitol as listed on product description page**Now that I'm comparing my container ingredients with the product description, I found this on the product page:"Legal Disclaimer: Actual product packaging and materials may contain more and different information than what is shown on our website. I'm a dental hygienist who always advocates using products approved by the American Dental Association. I have 4 children, and 2 of them hate toothpaste. My youngest brushes with a kids fluoride mouthwash. My 20 yo has an issue with puffy and bleeding gums. (shhh, don't tell anyone! My kids are supposed to have perfect teeth, lol! ) He uses a high end electric toothbrush, flossers, and every prescription paste and mouthwash I could get my hands on, to no avail. So I started researching alternative methods. We tried a few... But this not only cured his bleeding gums in less than a week, but improved his breath, temperature sensitivity, and whitened them slightly. (Plaque removal?). I took away a star because it's loose powder, messy, and expensive. I divided into smaller jars( another added expense) which helps some. When this runs out I will definitely be buying more.

Simply AMAZING!
I did NOT receive free or discounted product for my review.Taste and feel are something to get use to since most people are accustomed to sweet minty smooth toothpaste. The powder doesn't taste bad, it's just different. Add more cinnamon or a few drops of peppermint oil to the container if you'd like to enhance the flavor. Also, the gritty texture and black appearance might throw you off but don't worry about it, the results are worth it. After the first month of use the small traces of tarter on my teeth have disappeared. Didn't expect that benefit! My teeth and gums feel healthier and are much brighter. The price seems to have gone up significantly. If you're willing to do research and put forth a little effort, I would suggest mixing up your own tooth powder at a fraction of the cost. And you'll have enough left over materials to mix tooth powders for a lifetime, give away as gifts, or sell at farmers market.

It gets messy. Every time I open the container, powder comes out all over. I have to prep my counter-space before using this product, which is not ideal, but hey, the cost of white teeth right? I used whitestrips before using this product and I feel the powder helps maintain the whiteness. I am a regular coffee and wine drinker, so this is going to be a must in my medicine cabinet!

Honestly, this takes a bit of getting used to. It is literally what I imagine brushing one's teeth with actual charcoal might be like -- and yes, it is black in your mouth. It has an odd but not intolerable (kinda chalky) taste. Still waiting to see what whitening effect it has.

Not for me
I was so excited to use this product but it didn't work for me. It made my teeth even more discolored than before. My before and after pictures were mind blowing. I stopped immediately. I also learned that if something is too abrasive on the teeth enamel, it can acturally discolor the teeth.

Clean mouth
Leaves mouth feeling clean. I can't review the whitening aspect of it because I am a bleacher anyways but I do like the way it leaves your teeth feeling. Smooth just like I had a dental cleaning.
