Very pretty, soft, clean sand. We added it as a top substrate layer in a standard 55 gallon tank to protect the noses of our cories. It cover the entire tank about one inch deep. Watch out because the bag had little tears and the box was sandy, leaving sand around the house when we brought it inside.

While the item does say natural white sand. It does tint a little tan when added into the water..it does not stay the brilliant white it is in the bag

But this in a local store for about the same price product is inferior 50 gallon fish tank stayed milky white for 4 days ended up having a drain tank and get different kind of sand even washed it three times and it still stayed milky white

Looked great in my 55 gallon!

I bought this sand 2 years ago to line my 56 gallon aquarium, after 2 years i still get compliments of how great it looks. Make sure you rake through the sand once a month. It will collect algae green and black. As long as you keep mixing and raking it monthly it will go away. I did have to wash the sand before use.
