One of our A/C units started making noise like a bearing was going out. We called a major A/C company to come out and snag nose the issue. Luckily, they were not up to par on their follow through. The salesman told us the condenser fan motor and the capacitor were bad. They also recommended installing a hard start for the unit. The cost was going to be $4,600.00 we said ok. They were supposed to be back out that afternoon to get the work done. After a day and a half of delays and unanswered phone calls, we cancelled the request for the work. I had mentioned it to my neighbor and he told me he could help me to get the work done. I ordered the parts on Amazon and in less than 3 days and $400.00 later our unit was back to functioning without issue. And with the new hard start kit installed thanks to my neighbor, I can’t even hear that unit start up anymore. So I would highly recommend this item whether you are a diy or professional A/C repair person!

After watching some videos online about this product going out on my AC I figured I could at least try and replacing the run capacitor myself. It only took 10-15 minutes and low and behold my compressor was working and cold air! I had this go out before and an ac tech charged well over $300. I plan on buying another one to have on hand.
