ZEfal 2 Rim Tapes

I can't believe it took me over 14 years to change my original fiberglass rim tape which was causing me to get flats because the rim tape would move to one side and expose the sharp edges for the spokes. No more flats from the rim tape! Very easy to install and didn't need to cut any length off for my 700c wheels. Just make sure you get the right tape width when ordering. The tape also has a good amount of stickiness to keep it in place. Not sure though how easy it is to remove but hopefully that won't need to happen in a very long time.

This product did exactly what it was supposed to...cover up the screws inside my new rims so that they wouldn't damage the tire tube. I have built a Beach Cruiser and got some new Nirve Wheels for it for my birthday. I added Schwalb Fat Frank tires and some tubes from the local bike shop. I pumped the tubes up the other day and when I got up the next morning they were flat. I have never built a bike before, and had no idea that "rim tape" even existed. At the suggestion of the guy at the bike shop while there with a friend (who was buying a new mountain bike) I ordered up some rim tape. This stuff went on the rim easily, and has done an excellent job of covering up the screws for the spokes. I'm confident I won't have any more issues with the screws damaging my tubes!!

Good product, easy to install, good quality, decent price when weight and water logging aren't a problem or issue. Would not install on my Pinarello Paris but would and did on my Bianchi Volpe commuter bike.

I got this for my 700x30 hybrid rims. I should have measured. They were to big. I assumed that the 17mm wide tape would easily fit a 30mm rim. My rim has a ridge(possibly double wall?) that makes half of the interior much narrower. I still put the tape in just ran it up the side of the wall a touch. The tape itself is a heavy cloth tape. I can't see ever needing to replace it as it is thick, strong and has good adhesive. My package came with two rolls. Each was enough to go around the rim plus a few inches left over. It comes with a hole for the valve stem. Since putting on the tape I have put about 20 miles on and no flats.

The 17 mm worked great on my rim. Perfect size, both in length and width. So very easy to install. Aggressive side stuck right to the rim. Thick and tougher than the thin rubber wheel strips by far.

These worked perfectly. I love the size that many other brands don't offer. The 1 extra mm over the standard 16 mm that others have may not seem like much, but it could make all the difference. It may not be quite as thick as some of the others, but in my opinion, that is a plus. IT is plenty thick enough to prevent the tube from squeezing through the holes, and it allows you to have that extra mm width without worrying that you won't be able to seat your tire. This would be a 5 star review if not for the fact that either Zefal or the sellers decided to sell me REMNANTS disguised as full priced, new, uncut rolls. My first roll was fine. The second had two lengths of tape. The start of the roll reached about 2/3 around the wheel, and then another length was badly stitched to the first. So badly stitched that when I stretched it to make the two ends reach, they already pulled apart held on barely buy just two stitched. But the actual tape ends were almost a half in apart. Right over a spoke hole. There is no way it would have provided any protection. Even if it was stitched better and didn't come apart, and WASN'T right over a spoke hole, this would still be unacceptable to sell as a new roll of tape. I am now unable to ride my bike all weekend until I get a replacement because when I took the old tape off, it never occurred to me to do it carefully to save it just in case I was fraudulently sold useless pieces of tape that offered no protection.

This 17mm was the perfect width for my 26" Ryno Lite rim. There was extra length that I just cut off. There was a hole pre cut into the tape for the valve stem, however it is a bit narrow for a schrader valve, so I wind up using sissors to make the hole a little bit larger. The tape seems strong enough to protect my tube from the spokes and sticks well to the rim. I did get a flat once because I failed to fully cover 1 of the spoke holes with this tape. I just picked up another package. I use each tape for about 3 spoke repairs before using a new one.

Hefty and durable in apperance, this is a quality cotton rim tape that performs as expected and not a single flat in over 500 miles of riding. The 17mm was a bit wide for my double-wall 700c road rims (the 13mm would have been a better choice) which had some overlap on to the inner rim walls but has not caused any issues other than making it a bit harder to place the tire back on the rim.

The Material seems solid. However, the glue is on the wrong side of the tape. And it does not stick on the rim at all and just falls off. Very weird product. Would not recommend.

only used one roll so far. the glue is on both sides(not by design), making it a mess to install. have not tries to put tube&tire on yet.. will be looking for different brand in future

This tape worked as advertised. Easy to apply, no flats afterwards. Would buy again.
