Must-Have for a Fan
6 Western movies on 3 DVDs, all subtitled with english, and featuring 2 movies a disc. "Destry rides again"(1939) and "Winchester 73"(1950). There's an interview with James "Jimmy" Stewart that runs throughout "Winchester 73" as a commentary. Not only on Winchester 73, but about all the Anthony Mann/James Collaborations inkl movies not included in this Box. Very entertaining and interesting behind-the-scenes/on-set trivial treasures regarding working with Alfred Hitchcock; and of course, some about Jimmy's four-hooved co-star, horse 'Pie' (who carried him through 17 westerns); shared by the legendary actor himself. Recorded sometime after the 1970s. Both, the feature Film and the commentary are also subtitled (english only). DVD 2 "Bend of the River" (1952) and "The Far Country" (1954) no Extras, but subtitled (english only) DVD 3 "Night Passage" and "The Rare Breed" No Extras, except perhaps the fact that Jimmy Stewart played the Accordion and actually sang alot in 'Night Passage.' Not my personal fave, but sure something new to me. "The Rare Breed" was quite entertaining, and more comedy than traditional Western. I enjoyed it alot. All 6 were a fun watch.

Good Westerns
Jimmy Stewart westerns were always top notch. Very fine actor, you have to love his voice and they way the man moved while working. Very enjoyable westerns, made in a time when good and bad were readily recognizable and the audience left wanting the good to win. Far different from the society we have today. Westerns for all ages.
