For Anyone with a Sur Ron that Likes to Ride Enduro AND Street...
For Anyone with a Sur Ron that Likes to Ride trials-type stuff AND Street... This is an absolute boss of a tire (for the rear). But there are a few things you need to know:1. You'll probably want the 72v system, not the stock. This tire is a beast and weighs quite a bit. Total rear wheel weight (including my sprocket) is right around 19 lbs.2. You'll want a BIG sprocket to push this thing. You can do alright with a 54T sprocket or a 58T but I highly recommend a 64T. Not only does it give you more torque but 1. If you have the 72v system (like a Lite Speed 72v battery and BAC4000 or BAC8000 controller) you can still hit 55-60 mph and 2. The 64T seems to get much better range even over the 58T sprocket.3. You'll need to ditch the wheel 9-10mm away from the chain so the tire doesn't rub. Here are my wheel specs:- Rim: D.I.D. 2.15x18- Spokes: Sunny spokes 12 gauge 201mm (both sides) x36.- Spoke nipples: 10mm moped spoke nipples.- Hub: Stock Sur Ron hub.Sprocket: 64T (By far the best for this setup).Tire: this one - Shinko SR241 Trials Tire (3.5x18" 56p) - still has plenty of space.- Standard dirt bike tube.4. INSTALL RIM LOCK! This is huge because at high PSI this tire has very little traction - fine for street but not for off-road/trials. With rim lock installed you can go down to 6-8psi and you get a ton of traction then. I carry a tiny automatic pump with me so that I can ride out to the trails at ~18psi, drop it down to 6-8psi for the trails and then pump it back up to 18psi for the ride back. I know that sounds annoying - and I don't always do it - but higher PSI is definitely a lot more efficient on the streets. Will get you further. If you want something for the stock Sur Ron - or just something that's shorter, go for a 16" rear wheel/tire. Much lighter than an 18 and the stock power can spin it fine. Still want to go with a larger sprocket probably.Anyway if you're into trials riding AND street riding, this is it. I've gone through about 6 other brands and makes of tires and this is one of my favorites for dual-sport/trials/street riding. It's the one I keep on my bike and then if I want to ride in deep dirt or sand or something, I may put a more knobby tire on but this one is definitely my go to for almost all situations. It's a beast. So much grip - especially on rocky stuff (boulders).

I wanted the cafe look and got it with these tires. I put them on the front and rear same size 3.5 x 18. The knobs are deep and aggressive with a softer tread. They ride pretty smooth down the asphalt, you can feel the 'play' in the rubber because of the soft rubber compared to a harder tire. But nothing bad at all, you just know your riding on knobs. They howl some but nothing bad. I kinda like it. Cornering is good but at higher speeds the bike wiggles cause of the soft rubber. Grooved concrete and steel deck bridges are not fun to cross. The bike likes to walk and can catch you of guard if it grabs the right spot. Off road is pretty good. Dirt roads, grass, and hard gravel are no problem. Soft gravel is a little tricker but handles it well. Overall good tire on and off road.

New shoes for an old bike
No issues at all. Replaced some dry rotted Yokohamas. These ride great on the road and so far very well off-road, though I haven't done much of that as yet. Look great on my 76 KZ400
