Canned Sardine Perfection
These are a well packed, very clean sardine product. They have a light taste and almost no scales or internals. They are expensive and the taste is no better than my favorite value sardine, the Season brand in olive oil, sometimes found at half the price of the Parodi brand. Also, Parodi sardines come in a case of ten verses other brands (like Season) which come in a case of twelve. That said, and if you don't have a problem with their expensive cost, they are a great canned sardine and deserving of their excellent reputation. I will be keeping a few cans on hand for gifts and special snacks. Jan 4, 2020 Update: Ordered another case and upped my rating to 5 stars due to the price break!

At a level above the best.
My friends and I get together every few weeks and have sardines from all over. Traditionally, I have considered the smaller the better in the sardine world and have bought accordingly. Then, I ran across these Angelo Parodi - Portuguese Sardines and decided to try them, sight unseen. Well, at our latest luncheon gathering I decided to try these, opened the can, and much to my disappointment there they were, three giant sardines. Oh, no. But, I had to man up amongst my friends, so I dipped out one fish and delicately ate a small piece. Couldnโt believe it. This giant fish actually was good, and the more I ate, the better it got. After finishing of the whole can, I can say without reservation this is the best tasting sardine brand I have ever eaten, and Iโve had them from all over the world. Highly recommended.

very top of the top
what is there to say? ...seriously! how good could these be? I eat K. O. tiny sardines out of the north sea. they are delicious. clean, pure, perfect! then I decide to try these. everybody raves about them....give it a go. This is not fair. you are not supposed to compare apples to oranges and that is exactly what is going on here. example...had the open tin next to me at the desk...1/2 hr later i had forgotten about it having eaten the contents for lunch. how can you forget about an empty tin of sardines 2 feet away? By far the best tasting canned fish in the world...well...makes shopping for me at xmas easy...Parodi and more Parodi

Excellent sardines. Slightly oaky and buttery taste
Excellent sardines. Slightly oaky and buttery taste...sometimes even a bit sweet. Smooth texture. Not too salty. Not too dry. Would rate 9-9.5/10 for overall quality of sardines. However, the oil is watery thin and gets a 5/10. For example, there is a nice virgin olive oil with starkist's EVOO brand sardines(which I would rate the fish at 7-7.5/10 and the oil at 10/10). Both of these brands I consider to be way above King Oscar's red pack. If you enjoy a good sardine, you will like A. Parodi brand in OO.

Decent sardines BUT not at that price!
The irregular availability of several brands of sardines I am accustomed to has forced me to explore unknown brands. Sea Castle sardines in pure olive oil, a favorite, has been unavailable for some time now. The Spanish Matiz sardines, especially the 25-pack, are a delicious product and a great value. Connetable sardines taste great but could have an additional sardine in the tin and less olive oil. Angelo Parodi sardines are a good product, ONLY at a steeper price. Not sure the quality of these sardines merits a considerable difference in price compared to the previous stated brands, all of which are also excellent.

Wonderful Price Point for a Wonderful Sardine
I love sardines and I have my favorites, but I have recently decided to expand my search for tasty sardines. Angelo Parodi is simply delicious and comes in at a nice price point. The Olive Oil is above average and the fish is cooked to perfection. A+ sardine from a A+ seller.

Mediocre at best
Years ago these were great sardines, now they are mediocre. They taste more fishy and have more scales than the cheapest brands sold by Amazon. Ridiculous pricing for such mediocre product.
