Melodious and Progressive Studies for the Flute, Book 1, Revised Edition

Excellent selection of music!

I started learning from this book when I was still in high school preparing for college auditions. It carried me all the way through music school and now my daughter is learning from it and I use it as an exercise book for my flute students. These etudes never get old to play. If I had the time, I would stand and play clear through the book from cover to cover just for fun!The pieces are composed to incorporate so many necessary exercises in fingering, tone and melodic technique. You can't go wrong having this collection in your repertoire.

When these were produced by Southern Music Co., the price was MUCH lower and the quality of the print was good - through all of those years. The new company has really "cheaped" out with regard to quality, and the price has spiked considerably. I'm a flute teacher and have used this book since I was a student in the 70s.This is VERY disappointing, because the content is wonderful

This collection of easy to medium level etudes for flute includes some important studies by Kohler, Gariboldi, Terschak and Andersen. It is a cost-effective collection to buy. The editor Robert Cavally selected these studies well. This Book 1 is the first in a series of books titled Melodious and Progressive Studies for Flute.

I have looked for this book for years. The selections have been some of my favorites for many years. Excellent choice for individual play.

This book of etudes builds. I have learned various difficulties that i did not know about while playing these etudes. They build progressively in difficulty and it is best to work on them everyday :) Each one can be a little repetitive, but they really help with playing ;)

I have been using this method book for my students for 20 years. It covers a wide variety of styles and techniques. It is not a painless book for students by any means but it is good none the less.

I love the fluidity of these studies. It’s calisthentics for the flute.

Neuauflage einer Sammlung von 1984. Drucktechnisch überwiegend ok. Einige Stücke sind etwas sehr klein gedruckt, aber noch akzeptabel. Sehr attraktiver Preis!
