Fun reading to chase away a boring day.
This is a really good novel to fill an otherwise boring covid day. Well written, interesting characters, and a suspenseful plot with delightful twists. Judge Jo is a person I feel that I know, and I like that the author makes the sleuth a female judge. (But this detective story is no murder mystery, almost a caper story, so perhaps I err in calling Jo a sleuth.) I can’t say much without giving it away. Just read the book. You will enjoy it. I did.

Skillful Writing Makes for Enjoyable Law Drama
This is not my first Van Susteren novel- I would also recommend curious readers check out two of his earlier books, “The Dinosaur Lawyer,” and “Sunshine or Lead,” to start. With Gangster’s Court, in typical fashion, Van Susteren adroitly interweaves the analytical reality of a legal setting with a gripping tale of crime and intrigue. Great character development between Jo and Omar, leading me to believe that there may be a hint of truth to the story. If you are a fan of John Grisham, but wish to learn a bit of substantive knowledge along with your pleasure reads, Van Susteren is a great author to explore.

Enthralled with the book!
This book draws you in and I has me excited to find out what happens next. It’s well written and I started to lose track of time and forget about everything thing else going on around me. I’m looking forward reading the rest of it and finding out how it all plays out. I definitely recommend this book!

Good read.
I liked this book immensely! It is an easy read, an interesting look at the judicial system and intriguingly hints at how gangs and smart criminals might mix in a true underworld of gangster court. I look forward to the next book!

Gangster's Court an airplane book, i'm in the clouds.
I call Gangster's Court an airplane book. It's one that I could pick up at a kiosk for ten bucks and find myself sucked in for the hour wait at the gate, the next four hours on the plane, and then staying up an hour late at the hotel to finish it in one night. I happened to read this at home because of corona, but you get the point. The point is, Gangster's Court has really cool plot. A super genius criminal and superior court judge weaving their lives together to make something good happen and get in over their heads was really clever. The story was well written, well edited, and I really liked the characters. The situation for Jo being pulled to where she ends up worked well. The Omar character, my favorite, is well done so he seems human and not some perfect Moriarti type super villain. Long review short, if you're looking for a novel that will probably pull you in and have you wanting to find out what happens next, Gangster's Court is a great book to add to your library.

An Exciting Second Book in the Jo Channing Series
Following in the footsteps of the Aaron Baker book series and the first book of the Jo Channing book series, "Gangster's Court" is a fun, lively, and exciting legal thriller. The author has made this book very accessible to new fans and old ones in that while it is the second book in the series, it is still a stand-alone book that does not require the reader to have read the prior book to thoroughly enjoy this one.The book follows characters from both the traditional, legal world of government courts and policing as well as criminals and gang members who have their own ways to adjudicate disputes outside the law. Much of the intrigue of the book revolves around how these two worlds interact and how the characters operate when they are forced to into a world where they are not comfortable. Rather than give away plot points, know that fans of legal thrillers will be very pleased with "Gangster's Court."
