This hair barrette is a bit deceiving as you would not think this size would hold a lot of hair, but it does! It is curved in such a way that it holds more hair than others of the same size. Nice and sturdy and I know will last. I have thick long hair and am very pleased to have found this line of products.

This is a great hairpiece - one of my favorites. Sophisticated and elegant - perfect for work.

Nice looking but would not hold in my hair - way too loose - just slipped out.

I got the checkered one and it's very pretty. The only issue is the clip, as others have mentioned. It stays in my hair (I have straight hair), but it could slide out easily. I don't have confidence that it'll last the day. It's just not a strong clip.

decent barrette

I put in Amazon's search engine, "barrette for thick hair," and this was one of Amazon's top contenders. Now, I did go through all of the materials offered above this barrette, and see the picture of the item with the product's dimensions, but didn't compare their numbers with my trusty ruler. My mistake. This barrette, while in size is more appropriate for a child, is quite lovely in design. In fact, it was the design that kept me coming back to this. And although disappointed with the barrette's stature, I keep dreaming of someday finding one of the same design made appropriately larger for women with thick hair. Are they listening?

Didn't hold my hair at all. slipped right out

Even though it said on product description that it was for thick hair, when it arrived I was skeptical. It is small, but it was great for my thick, curly hair, quickly became a favorite.

It arrived timeously, well pack, and the best thing, it didn't slide out my hair

and great design that works, just enough tension to keep my hair tidy in a pony tail! no more elastic band that pulls!

Although pretty, this barrette is useless. I does not stay in my hair.
