I bought this matcha as I wanted a smaller size pack as it does go off fairly quickly and I don't drink enough of it to get through a bigger size pack. Although I don't drink it a lot, I have been drinking matcha for years. I also wanted a tin for better storage and easier access. The tin is sturdy, easy to open but has a nice closure. I find the resealable packet ones a bit messy. It arrives in a little package that you can pour into the container if you wish. You can buy cheaper matcha, but I have found the cheaper you go, the more smelly it is and the taste isn't great. This one, I was surprised that it doesn't really have that seaweed smell to it. Sort of fishy like the cheap ones do. It has a very slight smell of it to this one, but it is wayy lot less than the cheaper ones. It smells more earthy than like the sea. It has more of that classic matcha smell once you get it wet, unlike the cheaper ones. It blends very well. I used an electric frother to get the matcha mixed and to get some froth on my milk. The texture isn't clumpy and tastes really nice. I have found that this isn't as bitter as some of the others I have tried. You can still use a small amount (I used a teaspoon) and still get that fantastic matcha taste. Others tend to either lose their taste as you add ingredients, you try to add more and it just becomes so bitter and a battle to get the balance right. This one has been fantastic so far. It isn't luminous green or too dark, it's the correct colour for matcha. I would 100% buy this again. Definately one of the better matchas out there!

I have always drank perfect ted matcha however it is quite pricey so I decided to give this a try and oh my goodness it is AMAZING much better than perfect ted and much better company aswell. It has a nice vibrant colour and it is a mild/ medium strength taste so it is perfect for homemade lattes it give me the perfect energy boost. Although it isn’t a premium matcha it is better it is much better than a lot of the pricier option so if you are looking for an affordable and absolutely delicious matcha I one hundred percent recommend

This reaction was unexpected, as I typically enjoy matcha without adverse effects. The tannins in matcha can sometimes irritate the stomach, especially when consumed on an empty stomach. Unfortunately, this was my experience with this brand. Superself Organic Matcha may appeal to those seeking a fair quality matcha experience. Although it may not be suitable for everyone. If you have a sensitive stomach, it might be best to consume it alongside food to mitigate potential side effects. However the customer service was very kind and responded quickly. I will try it again in the future

Good price. Good quality. I use for iced matcha latte with 50% walnut and 50% almond milk.

I am no expert and have been trying out different matchas. I was excited to try this “ceremonial grade” matcha and thought it represented good value for money.. I think this matcha missed the mark. The powder had a dull, gray-green tone instead of the bright emerald you’d expect, and the flavour was flat -more bitter and astringent than smooth or umami-rich. Smelled a bit fishy or seaweedy. I guess fine for baking or lattes, but not for a true ceremonial experience. It does not state the the actual origin on description or packagingnto indicate it is from Japan or China. On my matcha journey so far, I have noticed that what was actually stated from Japan was better. It would be nice if the seller would update the web page and the actual packaging to indicate the origin. Photo attached...not good lighting but the 'other brand' is bright green. Hope this helps!

this matcha does not taste good. I wanted to save money since I'm always going to Starbucks and pret so decided to get some matcha myself and make my own lattes and then take it to work with me but the taste is just no where similar. it tastes so bland and you have to add so much powder to even taste a bit of matcha, which obviously makes it a waste of product. I am very disappointed especially since i heard alot of good things about this brand and got let down in the end.

Edit to add: I now drink hot lattes using this and I have succumbed to the taste and I drink it every day. It definitely helps settle my stomach :) I ordered the 50g as it was my first time trying this, it comes in a sealed bag/packet inside a small tin with screw off lid. I transferred mine from packet to tin easily enough but this can be tricky for some. I have nothing to compare it to, I just wanted to try Matcha and the health benefits are a bonus! I’ve tried it twice now - hot which wasn’t great and cold which was better IMO. I dissolved 1tsp matcha in a small amount of hot water (15-20ml) along with 1tsp brown sugar and blitzed that using my handheld frother, which seemed to help smooth out the texture, I then poured that mixture over ice and topped with Batista oat milk. The tea flavour really comes through for me and although I’m not used to drinking cold tea it’s not bad at all. I would happily drink this daily, And the green colour is an added quirk 🤗 I think it smells a bit like seaweed though 🤷‍♀️ My partner tried the hot milk version and didn’t like it, said it tastes like fish 🤣🤣 It seems to be good quality but I’m not clued up on matcha - so far so good. I would order again 🙂
