Best Value USB Capture Card under £80
Have been looking for a capture card for the best part of three months and had settled on a algato camlink, I purchased and then waited 4 weeks for a large pc shop in the uk to send out, to be told it was sold out. I was deep into lockdown by this point. With not many options left. Having stumbled across this a couple of times and readying the specs, i though it would be too good to be true for the money and it sat in my basket mutiple times before actually taking the plunge and buying it!Ordered on the thursday afternoon arrived in under 24 hours ready for the weekend to test. The quality of the capture card is excellent and seems solid with metal casing.Tested on my gopro and sony a6000 camera in obs and is works near flawlessly right out the box! but worth while spending 5 mins playing with the settings to get the best out of it.Yes its USB 2.0 but I've yet to experience any major issues with latency. (it does exist but is minimal) The capture card is picked up as a webcam and works seamlessly with the likes of Microsoft Teams, skype etc.

On both Windows and Mac this thing works very well
I suppose if you're looking at this review then you might be looking for alternatives to the Elegato Cam Link, so it's worth saying up-front that this cheap HDMI Video Capture device isn't a direct alternative. It supports a handful of image modes but doesn't support 4K output. However at 1080p the quality is really very good with very few dropped frames. My use case is to allow me to use a DSLR as a video camera input for OBS, YouTube and Zoom, and it performs very well for that purpose. I'm not a gamer and you won't find me on Twitch or any other streaming platform so I can't vouch for its suitability there, but if you checkout YouTube you'll find several gaming channels doing reviews on this device.

Good price and worked straight away. Latency affects results for live streaming.
Worked first time with OBS and easy to setup. Excellent for the price!! There is a noticeable latency lag which you can of course compensate for in recordings, but not so easily for live streaming.

A Capture Card that is lower priced than many and works with many HD formats
Gotta say, this worked great, I had no problems connecting my Sony Alpha cameras with these capture card so as to use it with Ecamm Live & OBS Streaming software. At this price, it was very surprising the many HD formats it could manage as part of its features.

Solid build easy to use.
Works right out of the Box. Windows 10 detects as a video device and installs a basic driver. Works in all apps as a Webcam and can even be used in most capture programs.

Good cheap alternative.
Pretty simple to use, I connected a SLR to OBS using this an it worked perfectly.

Technically it works
Easy to set up and seems to be reliable. Unfortunately the image quality is really poor, lots of artifacts and resolution appears lower than advertised

Good value video capture card
I use a number of cameras and video capture cards in my work. This one looks identical to another brand I bought recently so I wanted to test this one to see how it compared.I set it up in place of my Elgato Cam Link 4K with my Lumix G80 and Mac mini i7 2018 with 32gb ram. It worked straight out of the box with no drivers required and produces fairly good HD output with no noticeable latency. It shows up on my system as a webcam with the name "USB Video" This one came with a short USB extension cable as promised which you need as its wide and will otherwise block nearby USB slots.Although the video quality was slightly over saturated and made me look more tanned than I am frankly that is not a bad thing though clearly it does reproduce the same quality output as the Elgato produces though at a fraction of the price I would not expect it to.In summary HD video capture is not to bad and as such it is a good value video capture card for those on a budget or just getting started.
