I use several gallons of ortho ground clear each year; primarily on my gravel driveway and gravel paths. I also dose/ sprinkle in between flagstones and areas closest to the foundation of the house. I mix into a 2 gallon sprinkler watering can after transferring to half gallon cran juice empties to measure the proportion of water to weed killer I think it is 3x water and 1x weedkiller? Check the instructions! This works on almost everything. It does take time for a complete kill. You can see results quickly 1 or 2 days , but it will be about 2 weeks until the weeds are really shriveled up and dry, which indicates that the roots ought to have died as well. There is a different product that has a higher % of _________ sorry! cant think of the popular weed chemical that gets all the attention! Anyway, it is that other product that seems to work best on mugwort. Ortho Groundclear seems to work best for me if I apply in the early spring, when the weeds are showing, but not more than about 3" tall. If you wait, it takes so much longer for the product to kill the whole weed. I have had the best results when used in combination with PREEN; which prevents weeds from germinating. My plan was to spread preen in late fall and Ground clear in the spring, but Fall application did not happen. I will do both this spring. Buyer beware that this Amazon item is a smallish size, and I am sure the delivery expense has been added/incorporated into the price. I guess I usually buy several of the 2 gallon size at Home Depot. It is expensive, but pretty high on my must have list.

First gallon worked great. Second gallon not so much. Didn't kill as long, maybe only half the time. Doesn't kill elephant ears. First impression was great. Now looking for alternatives.

Seems, at the first, to be a little slow on the death march, but seems to kill it all.

product does work well but not worth the money. one gallon of concentrate takes 24oz to make 1 gallon as to where other products use 2.5 to 3.2 oz per gallon so this is not really a true concentrate, if you have a small space or yard this will work well for you if you have several acres to do then this is not the product for you get the compare and save or roundup instead. it does what it says but is not cost effective for large areas. UPDATE after trying this product, i changed my rating from 3 to 5 stars because it works fast. faster than anything I've used. much faster than roundup or similar products.

After Week (3) For Best Results With This Product! Don't Buy It! If You Do Buy It Return It Before Week (4) I Assumed By Mixing This @ 10x The Recommend It Would Kill Something Other Than Grass! I Had Over Grown Bittersweet With Lots Of Leaves That I Used Poison Ivy Killer A Few Years Ago And Killed Everything I Sprayed It On But This Stuff Did Nothing But Kill A Few Leaves, I Gave It A Last Chance Before Returning It On The Same Area I Had Done A Few Weeks Prior With Zero Results and Twice With a 50 50 Mix Did Nothing But Aggravate a Few Leaves, It Turned The Grass Below It Brown But I'm Not Sure It Even Killed That? Then The Products Says It Prevents Future Weeds Year Round? BS! It Can't kill Anything I Sprayed It On Almost 4 Weeks Ago. (RETURED) and Will Never Buy Anything ORTHO Thinking It Might Live Up To Its Claims. I Don't Think Someone Returned My Gallon Filled With Water Because It Was Sealed Under The Cap, I Had To Cut It Open. I Sprayed Many Different Types Of Weeds and All It Did Was Kill Grass Around It Or At Least Turned It Brown. Update (3) Weeks Later! I Sprayed A Lot Of Areas On The Same Day 3 Weeks Ago! Weeds In The Sun Seem To Be More Affected Than Weeds In The Shade With The Same Batch Of Mix At 10x Recommended. The Same Exact Weeds With Tons Of Leaves To Absorb The Product, The Shade Weeds Had Zero Results, The Weeds In The Sun Initially Shriveled The Leaves But After 3 Weeks The Roots Are Still Thriving. Week 4 Is Return Product Week Before Return Window Closes. I Need Something That Kills Weeds Not Just The Leaves. I was ready to become the weed terminator my lawn desperately needed. Fast forward a few weeks, and I’m staring at my yard like a detective in a low-budget crime show, trying to figure out: Did the weeds die? Did they just play dead? Or did they throw a secret party and invite all their friends? Honestly, I’m not really sure if this stuff worked or if it’s just gifted me an entire season of anxiety about whether I’m doing gardening right. Some patches look clearer, others look stubbornly green — like the weeds know they’re part of some weird reality show and are refusing to go quietly. Bonus points for the fact that it sounds super science-y, so I feel like a lawn-care chemist even if my results are… meh. In conclusion: If you want a product that might kill weeds and grasses and might just make you question your gardening skills, this is the concentrate for you. For guaranteed results, maybe just hire a landscaper. Or take up knitting.

This ortho ground clear works great !! We use it every year to clear around our fences, driveway, and anywhere else you can't get with a mower or trimmer. Apply it once when mowing season starts and it lasts all summer.
