I had my one shoulder replaced late last summer. Since then, I've been sleeping on my back, in my recliner. I couldn't find a position in my bed that didn't cause enough discomfort that I could sleep. I used all sorts of pillows and even a large foam wedge. No matter what I tried, I couldn't sleep in the bed.In late March of this year, I read a blog by someone who had their shoulder replaced and they had the same problems sleeping in the bed. They tried this pillow system and immediately fell asleep on their bed.This blogger was brutally honest about getting one's shoulder replaced and the subsequent recovery. I wish I had found it before I had mine done. I would have been much better prepared for it.Based on the strength of their review in the blog and some other reviews I found of the Avana pillow system, I bought one.I am so glad I did! I have been sleeping comfortably in bed since it arrived. It is uncanny how much it feels like being in my recliner.You'll have to experiment with it to find the right angle to recline in bed, whether or not you comfortable with using the head pillow (I use regular bed pillow instead), and if you'll like the under knee pillow. The knee pillow is great if you're sitting in bed watching TV or reading. For me, the knee pillow was a little too high to sleep with comfortably. I use the head pillow as a knee pillow and am really happy. Don't try sleeping without the knee pillow. I did for a couple hours and then I tried the knee pillow . It was heavenly, once I figured out I could use the head pillow as a knee pillow!Had I found the Avana pillow system first, I would not have needed to buy my recliner. I could have been sleeping in bed from my first day at home, after getting out of the hospitalMy only minor quibble with the system is getting in and out of bed is not as easy as once was. However, it is well worth the effort!

After a number of medical issues, I had to start sleeping sitting up. This made it possible to do so comfortably. It does take some time and "skill" to figure out how to setup the way you want it. Once I figured out how to arrange it for me... it was great. I have been much more comfortable in bed since I got this. I also got the WIDE version as I have a shoulder span that is greater than 24 inches, and the extra space is worth it for me. The ONLY complaint I have so far is the pillow cases stain very easily. Just the oil from my skin has yellowed the pillow case in a short period of time. I have resolved that by covering the pillows with sheets or other pillow cases and that works nicely.

Big money well spent. So comphy when reading or gaming in bed. Only problem is there's no pillow case I have that fits these shapes. I used a thin top sheet and wrapped em up. I'm satisfied

I have a breathing disorder and must be propped up to sleep, I was sleeping on a mountain of pillows, these seemed more practical. I love the width of this set (I bought the wide set).I find the set fairly comfortable. However, to be comfortable multiple pieces must be arranged together just so. Unfortunately they don't stay that way, the lumbar support drifts down and off while the main wedge slides up creating a steeper angle. Every night I need to get out of bed and re-arrange the wedges before trying to sleep again. Great for reading, watching TV, or even crochet/knitting in bed. Not useful for sleeping.

The pillow set is made well and is very good quality. Unfortunately, I couldn't get comfortable due to a bad shoulder. I called the return phone number and was issued an authorization for a refund without any issues. The UPS shipping was going to be very expensive but I called the company back and they were amazing. We were able to work something out. It is nice to get great customer service.

I bought this due to having shoulder surgery and would have to sleep setting up ! Best thing I bought I have slept in my bed every night since surgery. Would by again

No sleep Apnea machine for me. With the aid of these pillows my doctor was able to me no more episode's and it also helped towards a better nights sleep and helped with my spinal pain. Also a comfortable way to stay well.

I've been suffering years of intermittent debilitating back pain. I bought the extra wide cushion set (mainly for the extra cushion) a few months ago, and although it took me a couple of days to find the perfect arrangement for me, now that I have found the perfect arrangement, I'm sleeping soundly and haven't had any back pain since! The foam is sturdy and strong, and even after 2 months of nightly use, its still maintaining its shape. The cushion covers are easily removed for washing, and the fabric is kind of grippy, meaning that the cushions don't slide out from under me as I sleep. The small neck cushions have a set of kind of velcro straps that sticks them to the larger cushions, and they haven't moved out of place while sleeping. So although it was an expensive purchase for me and I had my doubts as to how well they would work, they've worked better than I thought they would and I'm so relieved to be rid of my debilitating back pain.
