Mahle LX 1009/6 Air Filter

Fits and performs as good as the Porsche part for far less money, I’m sure. With my larger 3.8L and side intake scoops, my car breathes a lot so the filter needs to be replaced every 1000 miles so saving money on these air filters helps. 15 minute job after you get the hang of it.

Great price and amazing quality. No Porsche tax on this simple but important filter for our complex German engineered vehicles. I was suspicious about a non OEM filter after having issues with a popular after market air filter company. This one eclipsed that past experience. Most difficult part was opening the box. The air filter fit like a factory piece. It even has the plastic holding mount that stabilizes the filter to the housing. Mahle you have a customer for life.

It takes knowledge to install these. But fresh engine air works now.

This is the third time I’m purchasing this air filter and I can say that the quality is consistent and fits like a glove.

2 minutes to remove old filter but 15 minutes of struggle to install new one. Not the products fault but Porsche engineering for making the fit so tight.

Fits like it should. Ordered for a Boxster S 2007 and have changed them before. The filter came out and matched the original OEM that was in the car. Installation is a little difficult but what isn't on a Porsche. Instructions are available on line but can't complain on the price from Amazon.

YouTube and Amazon will save you a ton of money. Because I decided to clean my (never seen before by me) engine bay, it took 45 min. If your not picky it’ll take less. I was having low end slacking. I can feel the difference. The quality of this part was good, and you don’t need to transfer parts. It’s plug and play. Absolutely worth it, must have been starving for air. I will be changing this regularly.

The filter appeared to be original but Amazon delivery me a returned defective item and I didn’t notice until I was ready to replace it. It’s not an easy task replacing this filter on a Porsche Boxster. Many parts have to be removed to get access. I had to go to the dealership to Purchase a new filter. I would not purchase oil or air filters from Amazon as they do not check returned items. It was clear that the previous purchaser damaged it. Not happy Amazon!!!
