Little Red Cap Clam Shell Caulk Saving Cap, Red (Pack of 16)

Wish that they would have had these available 30 years ago! They work on almost any spout or nozzle from my glue to caulking. Someone wrote and said that why bother paying for something like this when you can just put a nail down in it to seal it.. I will tell you why for those that still do this because it is "cheap". It isn't cheap! Anytime you have to squeeze your caulk out on a rag to get to the caulk that isn't RUSTED from the nail, you just wasted your money on caulk which was way more expensive than the nail you bought. Whoever came up with this horrible idea is dead wrong. A nail is the worst thing that you can seal caulking with! Probably some ole guy 50 years ago used one as he had nothing else to use and then it became some sort of a "thing to do"?I have lost more caulk due to the "nail trick" and had to squeeze out 5" of rusty caulk before it comes clean. Maybe it would be different with stainless steel nails? I don't know. But I do know this...for the little bit of money you pay to get these red caps, that are re-usable over and over, is small compared to the mess you get when you go to use caulk that has had a nail shoved into the nozzle. I will never go back.I did write this review on my own. I didn't get any discount or anything free. These are just worth every penny.

SO MANY WASTED tubes of caulking- and SUCH a simple solution!!! These are awesome- a totally simple idea that just WORKS!! If you are like the rest of us & need to use calking 'every now & then' & end up throwing out most of the tube the next time you go to use it, THIS is the solution!!I have tried EVERYTHING- nails or screws in the tube with foil wrapped around to block the air from getting in, plastic wrap rubber-banded so tightly it leaves an imprint in the tube when you take it off....nothing worked. Leave the tube without using it up for more than 24 hours and it was trash. Not anymore!!! These work GREAT. My caulking bill just went WAY down- THANK YOU LITTLE RED CAP!!!

These things are AWESOME!! They have paid for themselves many times over in all of the tubes of caulk and Liquid Nails that I haven't had to throw away while still 2/3 full! They're reuseable too, which is pretty sweet. I never write reviews for products, but I felt I had to make an exception for these little guys. So simple, yet so effective!!!

Best product I have ever found to use on caulking tubes......roll it off, use the caulk, roll it back on to reseal it. Great idea and priced right.

These are a pain to put on. The trick is to pre-unroll a bit to use as a reservoir tip. Squeeze the air out as you're rolling it on. If you don’t, you’ll probably form a tear in the tip. So far, they’ve kept my caulk safe for a few months.

These are kind of a nifty idea if you don't pay too much. On caulk cartridges, however, I would only use them as a very temporary cap. The angle cut tips can be sharp and I noticed after a few days the rubber getting thinner. I do like using them over plier jaws for non-scratch work, but for cartridge caps the best one I've used is a short black cap with a peg inside that the big boxes carry. I also have a large yellow cap which works, but none are perfect. They're better than the old nail and duct tape though.

These little red caps are fantastic for sealing caulk tubes. I have used the hard plastic caps which don't seal if they get some caulk in them or come loose or I lose them. I've used the same red cap for 2 tubes now and it's still good. The color stands out, you can put them in a pocket. All around good product. Glad I found it on Amazon, looked in stores and got blank looks and head shakes.

We've begum calling these "Caulking Tube Condoms." They are great!! For anyone older than about 10, haw many resealing methods have you tried? No doubt, a bunch. These simple covers work and I've had excellent success with them. I gift the to friends and use them on all of my own tubes, large and small. Once in a while, one finds a new product that is truly the Cat's Meow. For me, this is it.
