A "Must Have" on Your Rides!
Initial review: I bought this after not having a way to check my tire pressure on the road after changing a flat, inadvertantly overinflating my tire and suffering a sidewall blowout a few miles from home - not fun at all! So I just received this and tried it out on a spare wheelset in the garage (last place you want to try any new product out for the first time is while you're changing a flat on a rainy day!). Product feels well manufactured sturdy. It is lightweight enough to go into a jersey pocket and forgetting it is there as well as being small enough to fit into even my tiniest saddle bag with a spare tube, CO2 canister, two levers and a multi-tool. It works well with Presta valves and the pressure readings are accurate enough to get you where you need to be after changing a flat in 10 PSI increments. Any finer increments and you'll have to guesstimate it. The release valve works better than expected to help you dial your pressure into an acceptable range. As long as you follow the instructions that came with the product and in the email from the company I received on the day the product was delivered (nice touch, btw), you shouldn't have any problems with loss of air when using the product in the real world. Time will tell if this product continues to work as advertised, but as of now I am pleased with the product and won't go on a ride without it.

Big let down.
Listen up engineers, this item is a good example of verification vs. validation. Passed verification, failed validation. It is made of high quality materials, and I imagine it will measure pressures in some given range, it just does a horrible job of what its supposed to do. The gauge pops back in as soon as you take it off the valve. I was expecting it to work the way all other pen style tire gauges work so you don't has to stay stooped down/bent over trying to read the gauge. But worst of all, it lets out a lot of air as you engage the valve. Not a quick "pssst!", more like "fshsssssssssssssssssst!". Now you've lost 10 PSI that you have to guesstimate for when you put air back in your bike. Returned.

A potentially great product, but it needs work.
This has the potential to be the new industry standard- but it needs more R&D.Tested it on a Presta valved road bike I known to be at at 100 psi (via accurate floor pump gauge) and I could only get a 30 psi reading.Similar results on a Schrader 26“ mountain bike at 45 psi- also read 30 psi.Again on a Presta valved 26" bike at 45 psi, the result was a 30 psi reading.I then changed the relative pressure in all three bikes by adding and removing air. The result was either no reading or, again, 30 psi, no matter how much air was added.I fix things for a living. This is not a case of user error.UPDATE: I've found that removing the stock grease used on the slide and replacing it with highest quality grease (I used white lithium), the accuracy and ease of use is GREATLY increased. There is great potential here for a fantastic product, but there seems to be either an engineering or quality cobtrol issue. Either or both can and should be addressed. I'd love to see this product work. The need to thread the gauge to the valve stem can easily be remedied and a simple locking mechanism to keep the gauge extended when removed from the valve stem would be worthy improvements, as well. All of that said, the company's customer service is absolutely above par, with Chris (the company founded) personally reaching out and issuing a prompt refund.I truly hope Pro Bike Tools makes the effort to refine this pressure gauge. If they do, I'll have one in every saddlebag on each of my bikes. That's a lot of em!

Well made, but not what I was hoping for
Well made; feels solid. The pop-out gauge is quite short, and therefore cannot very precise--a couple of pounds of pressure does not visually change the bar position significantly. There also appears to be enough friction that the pop-out gauge does not always accurately reflect the new pressure after bleeding off some air. On top of that, the markings are just tiny--hard for middle-aged eyes to read. The schroeder valve attachment works really well--the connection to the valve screws on and seals before any air is released, meaning almost no air is lost in the process. The presta attachment works "fine"--it just presses on--but it loses a little air as you fiddle with positioning the gauge. Unfortunately, for me, I'm more interested in the presta attachment. The difficulty in reading the gauge, the friction of the pop-out piece, and the air loss means it's easy to overshoot the mark when dropping pressure. I have since bought a mini pump from Pro Bike Tool that has a built-in gauge--I'm hoping it will end up being a better alternative. This little guy just doesn't quite cut it for me.
