Can size 18 stretch to fit an f/g cup even though it is specified as a to d?

I'd say they're on the roomy side. The cups are generous and the fabric also has quite a lot of stretch in it. There's no means of adjusting the shoulder straps, by the way, but they're long enough. I've found these bras very comfortable and easy to manage (I have restricted movement in my shoulders). I think your mother would appreciate them.
