RIP, Sir!
Herman Wouk's epic account had me on the edge of my seat for months. Between Winds of War and this sequel, Wow!I love History and this guy's research made the story he wrote a treat to be sure. Wouk's ability as a storyteller is second to none. These two novels are often compared to War and Peace in terms of his grasp of the epic enormity of WW2 and its impact on the lives of people who lived through it, and unfortunately many that did not. (Did you know the estimate of the total number of lives that were lost?..... 41 million, military and civilian combined!)BTW. HIs knowledge of the Navy in the Pacific and Navy culture came from serving as an Executive Officer on a minesweeper during WW2.As to RIP, Mr. Wouk lived to be about one week short of 104! Bravo to you, sir! And thanks.

Often printed in 2 volumes
Wouk’s research and writing are excellent but be careful in ordering: some copies of W&R were printed in two volumes. My seller didn’t realize that and only sent me volume 1.

Quality of book condition
'Used' book was more 'Like New' with little to note of usage. We love WWII themed thrillers and bought this with the first of the series 'Winds of War'. War and Remembrance is Part 2 of so if interested, be sure to buy Winds of War first or both together if possible!

One of the best stories ever!
This is the second part of the Winds of War with the same cast of characters. Wouk is superb in his presentation of the jewish massacre by the Nazis and in this volume you get the full horror of the ultimate anti-Semitism. The development of the characters is wonderful and, while I have not yet reached the end of this second 900 page story, I am enthralled.

THE fictional account of World War II. I am ...
THE fictional account of World War II. I am a lifetime student of the war and have found NO errors in the research. The story itself is very moving. One will learn to know parts of the war they have never met by reading these two books carefully.

Great Historical Fiction
The second half of Wouk's gigantic portrait of WWII and its origins. If you think you understand the Second World War, you first need to read *The Winds of War* and then this sequel/continuation. The books have a specific American viewpoint, and a more specifically Jewish viewpoint, but this is great historical fiction
