Quality cooking rice wine
This item arrived as described. The bubble wrap packaging was very satisfactory and aided in the protection through Travel. No leakage.I am looking forward to cooking with it. It smells wonderful. I canโt wait to try in some Oyokodon!

Great product that is not heavily sherry flavored or colored. Excellent!
Unlike most rice wines for cooking, this does not have the sherry flavor or color of most and I prefer it to all others. It is clear and has a dandy fresh flavor. Excellent

Good product
I donโt know anything about rice wine and was using this to make Szechuan Chicken. It worked well for this application. It can well packed for transit but still leaked a little bit thus the 4 star vs 5.

NOT GLUTEN FREE!!!
Oredered because according to website this item was gluten free. Received today, however the third ingredient listed is wheat. In addition to this the product was not packaged correctly and the rice wine leaked in package. Please do not order if you suffer from gluten allergies

Not well packaged
The bottle came opened and some of the wine spilled into the packaging. The ingredients lable was destroyed. The front lable was wet and peeling off the bottle. It says on the lable it contains 15% alcohol by volume. I don't believe it. There is hardly a smell of alcohol. Maybe it dissipated when it opened. I haven't tried it in cooking yet.

If you cook Chinese, you need this!
I make a lot of Chinese (and Vietnamese) food from scratch. Recipes often call for rice wine but the only product I can found locally is rice vinegar. Not the same thing. Rice vinegar has its place in Chinese cooking as well, but if the recipe calls for rice wine, that's what you need. It's a different flavor altogether. Yes, you can substitute sherry for Chinese wine but again, that's a different flavor. If I lived in a bigger city I could probably find rice wine in the Asian markets but I haven't seen it around here. I'm glad I thought to check Amazon and found the Michiu rice wine. The price is very good and the quality seems great.
