we needed this for our new testers, kind of hard to read and figure out which tube to use, but it works good, nice price and ships fast, tubes last 3 months after opening. I recommend it

My sweet 5 month old baby boy was diagnosed with Congenital Hyperinsulinism at 3 weeks old after being in the NICU with severely low blood sugar for weeks. He is on medications to keep his sugar levels up but we still have to check him several times a day. We use the Accuchek Guide meter that was given to us at the end of our NICU stay. I ordered the control solution because I am always worried that our meter isn’t accurate for some reason and needs to be calibrated. It was affordable and came in the mail quick with prime. It was super simple to use and to be honest I didn’t even ready the instructions. Like the blood requirement when testing It only requires a very very small drop onto the test strip and then I just followed what the meter said to do. You have to be careful though because the solution comes out really quickly. So far, it has worked great and we haven’t had any issue or our meter read out of range with the solutions. We use it every time we open a new container of test strip or have to change the batteries in the meter and it has always been accurate and within range. We have even compare it to our hospital and doctors readings with at visits. This has helped keep my mind at ease that I am getting very close to correct blood sugar readings on my sweet boy when at home!

Doing the test is easy enough, but there is a huge range for the liquid to test "correctly" in for the two bottles of measured glucose. There should be an exact number, or at least a tight range response for the testing liquid. "High" and "low", with a range of dozens and dozens of points to still be accurate does not instill confidence.

Nearly impossible to find at local retail with most retail pharmacies and retail home medical supply companies being completely unaware of this product or its importance. Just like in hospital plus outpatient laboratories that are required to maintain strict quality control on all blood related measuring devices, this solution allows the individual to maintain quality control on their home or portable finger stick glucose monitor to verify accuracy. The VA even supplies this type of solution to qualifying vets along with all their other diabetic supplies.

I bought the two bottles and immediately tested my glucometer and it worked perfectly. The only thing is that you have to shake the vials very good and put the drop to be tested on your finger to test your glucometer. You can’t try putting the drop on the test strip it just won’t work. It’s very easy to use. I think getting the vials from Amazon costs less than buying it from the local drugstore.
