Does the shroud have to be a tight fit to the grinder or can it be a little loose?

In my view, it needs to be a tight fit. The kit comes with a few washers (not sure if the round bits with different thicknesses provided in the box are called washers) in the kit so you can choose the best one for your grinder. I don’t think it would make any sense, if efficient at all, to have a loose shroud wobbling all over the place while you are grinding or sanding something. So a tight fit is the way to go. Just my 2 cents.

Should the shroud be flush with the grinding wheel when fitted?

Dear They should be flush Thanks

Can it be used with water?

I don’t know only used it dry for a very small job. On a uneven cement screed.A lot less dust than with out also easier on the hands as no grit when using grinder free hand as you have to take the guard of to keep the disc level to the floor.
