Perfect fit (XS)
Madeline Sophia (Maddie) is a mixed breed pup. She is Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Poodle (small), Miniature Schnauzer, Dachshund, Pekingese, Maltese, and Supermutt (thanks Embark). She’s about 1.5 years old, and weighs 13-14 lbs. Her neck is 13”, girth is 17.5” and length (from base of neck to base of tail) is 15”. I bought her the XS in hunter orange, and it fits PERFECT and looks great. Even if her girth or neck were larger, it would still fit, as there is room to make it larger. The hook and loop material for the underbelly is solid instead of having strips that need to meet up, so it is very secure. The neck strap has a nice pad on the inside so it doesn’t irritate the neck. The arm holes to the underbelly closure are deep enough that they don’t rub under her armpits, and the neoprene material is thin and soft, so it wouldn’t irritate her if they did. The flotation pads aren’t bulky, so I’m not worried about her overheating or getting anything snagged under the neck of the vest. The lift strap on the back seems secure and is slightly padded, so it’s comfortable to use. We live in Florida and she loves being on the ocean kayak and laying in the pool on floats with me. Also, this will be her second year in Canada at our lake cottage. The cottage is surrounded by water (have to take our boat to access it) and woods. She love being on the boat and running around through the woods along the paths to neighbors (who we can’t see from the cottage). Some areas are dense with foliage or are along the water, so she will be safe and extra visible wherever she is. This life jacket is fitted to her body very well and has more room to make it bigger if you have a pup that is still growing. She has much more freedom of movement than bulkier jackets like her last one (Dogcheer sport style life jacket-as seen in the picture of Maddie on the kayak). I hope I covered everything that may help.

Does it’s job
Got it for my lab, who would rather drown then get out of the water. I found this exact vest at pet smart and it was more expensive. The only problem I have with it is the velcro. The amount of times we took it off and put it back on the velcro fuzzed up a bunch. Still works great but will eventually have to replace the fuzzy part of the velcro or the whole vest.

Wonderful!! Would recommend.
Purchased 2- med for our 25lb pointer and xl for our 85lb labraheeler.Had a ripstop version before for our labraheeler that was junk so we wanted to try the neoprene style as we needed another. These are well made. . It's sewn like a wetsuit. The med has one handle and the xl 2. Was able to safely lift the med size alone my husband was able to lift up the Xl no problem. Can't wait till they try them on the boat. Would definitely recommend

Perfect
Purchased the M size. This fits perfect on my ESS. She’s medium size and about 35lbs. Not big and bulky and dries quickly.

Great brand and well made - just we prefer the ripstop one
I bought the Neoprene and Ripstop dog buoyancy aids for our cockerpoo who loves the water. Specifically we walk along a canal and he jumps in and out a lot, but I have now got a kayak which he swims out to and likes to climb aboard; we thus wanted a handle to lift him with and some floatation in case he gets exhausted. Both products are great - relaly well made and effective - but perhaps one is better for you depending upon your need.Pros:• Neoprene looks good• Floats okay• Fits the dog well - their sizing is good.Cons• Whilst neoprene is itself buoyant, the inserted floats seem higher whereas the ripstop has buoyancy is all around so 'appears' lower down so I prefer the ripstop• I guess designed for a female b1tch as the undercarriage covers his bits so I guess any wee goes where I wish it didn’t (maybe I didn't shop it enough and there is a male / dog variant)• Seems slightly heavier for me to lift him when wet, than the ripstop, and he struggles to climb out of the canal / riverbank more in the neoprene (but I can scoop the back easily with the end of a paddle)Conclusion: both really are very good and exceptional value ... of the two I thought I’d prefer the neoprene, but the ripstop one works better for me and was cheaper. For us on a kayak, I prefer the ripstop – especially for him getting in and out of the canal bank. If you have a female dog you’re taking on a boat – so not climbing banks – then both are great and I suppose down to looks. The neorpene is certainly of great build quality too.

Fitted my Jack Russell well
I bought this for my Jack Russel to go stand up boarding with the family. It was easy to fit and adjust to her size, this took about 3 minutes to adjust the straps to her size. There is also Velcro underneath that also helps keep the vest in place. There are a variety of sizes and colours to choose from. My dog fell into the water several times and this vest prevented her from going right under at point of falling in. She is a good swimmer even without the vest. But when falling off the board there is a risk of her going right under. But with this vest on she just landed on the top. The handle on the top is perfect for grabbing hold of her when she is in the water and putting her back on the board. My Jack usually hates to wear any sort of jacket. But after the initial hesitation she was fine wearing it. It also kept her a bit warmer after getting wet in the uk weather.

safety first
Measured the dog, a Westie, and his measurements indicated a Medium jacket. The problem was the fit of the tummy safety Velcro wrap, it catches his "manhood". I didn't have time to send it back and try a smaller size as we were due to go away, one good thing... while we were on the boat and didn't move about much! The handle on the top was a good size and strong, as were the safety buckles. He always swims given the chance, and this was the first time he had ever worn a jacket so it may have been the movement restriction or the weight of the jacket I don't know but he didn't voluntarily jump in the river. It was reassuring to know had he gone in, he would be safe.

Fitted well and worked well
We got the small one for our Scottie. It did not bother her when running on the beach and along the surf line. and seemed to give her more confidence when a wave washed in. We found the neck strap across her chest needed to be tight to keep the jacket in place. The main buoyancy is on the back so she was still low in the water. She is not a strong swimmer and only used the aid to swim ashore. The underbelly portion is very secure and fastened with velcro and then two buckled straps. There is no chance of it coming off.I dropped one star though as the velcro attracts and traps sand.Overall, I would recommend this product.

Almost ideal.
I wanted a floatation vest but not the bulk and for a water loving dog this one was ideal. I have a beagle/jack russel cross and I ordered the medium. It fits him perfectly everywhere ....... except.. the velcro band that secures around the belly is a little too wide - as a male dog it covers his junk and drives him nuts. He's worn it once now and while it's amusing to watch him trying to adjust himself it's a big design oversight.
