Is the kind that looks like solid pack tuna when you open it?  My cats like that kind only.  No gravy or pate?

Yes it’s that kind - just flakes of “tuna.” There’s no gravy, but it is moist (which you know if your cats have had this before). My cat will ONLY eat this flaked type (and brand) as well. I’ll try to post a review with pictures when I feed her later for anyone else who may have the same question since cats can be quite picky!

How man trays do you feed an average size adult cat a day?

is this actually the appetizers formula or is it the new "purely" formula that is being sold here - does the picture match the product you received?

Fancy feast appetizers are still being sold on Amazon,  I just recently bought it, but make sure it says Fancy Feast appetizers.  If it isn't right Amazon does guarantee the product.

I'm worried about the mercury / arsenic content of this food (bc fish & pollution) - what kind of fish are used and from where are they sourced?

At Purina, all seafood vendors must go through an extensive Vendor Approval Process including on-site audits and repeated ingredient testing for mercury and other contaminants, with preference given to geographical areas and fish species known to have low mercury residues.  Only those vendors that pass this review process are approved vendors of Purina.

Nearly all fish and shellfish contain traces of mercury. Because mercury is a naturally occurring substance in many fish, it is possible that trace amounts – measured in parts per billion – might be detected in any product with seafood. These unavoidable traces do not pose a risk to a pet’s health.
