I love how henna makes my hair shine and have been ...
I love how henna makes my hair shine and have been using it for years. This was the first time I've used this brand and am sold on it now. I used equal parts light brown, dark brown and mahogany, mixed only with water and applied to clean, dry hair for three hours with a plastic cap. I have quite a few grays and they came out with golden/warm highlights. If you have never used henna befor, be forewarned - before leaving a bad review please understand that this is a NATURAL plant product as in dried, finely ground plants. It mixes up green. It smells like plants and doesn't smell great but neither does store bought hair dye. When rinsing it out, be patient. Sometimes using a little bit of a moisturizing conditioner can help get the plant material out of your hair. Do not wash your hair for a couple of days because the color will continue to develope - you may not see dramatic results right away, that's why I always wait 2 days befor washing it. The color is astonishing and I like that you can easily mix in the browns if you don't want it too red. Once you wash well and use a good conditioner, you will be amazed at the brilliant shine! The first couple days are a little less glamorous, but if you're deciding to use henna ( aka something with no chemicals and completely, 100%natural) you may feel less worried about the process but much happier that your not dowsing your hair and scalp with pretty much harsh and poisonous drug store/salon chemical hair dye.

Beautiful color.
I've been dying my hair with henna for about five years now. Until a few months ago I bought it from Mountain Rose Herbs and was happy every time, but then they switched suppliers and the new one just doesn't deposit much color in my hair. I've been looking around for a new brand and I saw this one and noticed that the jar looks similar to what Mountain Rose Herbs used to send me and they had the same mahogany shade I always used to buy. I'm not sure if this is actually the same one, but it definitely worked for me just as well!I have pretty long hair and I used about 6oz. of henna to get full coverage. I followed the instructions and left it in my hair for 75 minutes without heat and the color in my hair is rich and vibrant. I plan on staying with this brand.Notes to anyone who's never used henna:Henna is a lot more work than regular hair dye. It's messier and heavier and more time consuming. I think all of that is worth it since it doesn't damage your hair the same way boxed or professional dye can.Henna doesn't smell good and the scent stays with you for about three washes. I run a tiny bit of peppermint oil in with my argan oil and it doesn't bother me.Your hair will bleed red as well for about three washes. I don't sleep with my hair wet until this subsides.

LOVE LOVE LOVE
I went from using the hardened henna blocks from LUSH at $20+ a pop, to using these. 3/4 of one container covers my hair completely. (My hair is to the middle of my back right past my bra strap.) A package of two of these containers cost me about $12. That's only around $4.80 per hair dye! What I love about this product is that it's already a ?dust? consistency. I don't have to spend twenty minutes chopping this up. I add a bit of tea to this, and one egg. It not only leaves my hair beautifully red, but seems to also add moisture to my dry hair. I also like that this product has the bare minimum of ingredients. If this is your first time using henna a couple tips:do a test strip of hair first, it's permanent and you'll have to wait two to three weeks to chemically dye over it if you don't like itput it in your hair when its as hot as you can handle it, it's like a thick paste and hard to form and get good coverage when it starts dryinginvest in a reusable shower cap designated for hennaif you get henna on anything, clean it right away, it will stainPros:cheap to buygreat quality consistency (I've purchased this over five times now)minimal and natural ingredientseasy to useCons:smells funky

I loved my color when it first came out it was ...
I loved my color when it first came out it was a beautiful vibrant red just like I had imagined. I took time to apply it evenly and it looked professionally done for the first few days but sadly it began to fade within a week. Though I do wash my hair often I waited the 48 hours to shampoo as recommended and took care to just condition for the rest of the first week. I will try the Henna again as I have noticed my hair feels much healthier then when using chemical dyes and will try to use dry shampoo only for at least a week. I'm also going to try letting the henna sit over night in my refrigerator rather then just a couple hours. Hoping this will produce more long lasting even color.

It's like a hair mud bath.
This item actually comes with 2 containers not one so that was a bonus. I have used this brand of henna on my hair for about 5 years and I have never regretted it. I am Hispanic and I have really dark hair, but I am also Scottish so my hair pulls red. My hair is thick and reaches the end of my shoulder blades length wise so I use about 3 containers. If you have hair like mine this will give it a beautiful red tint that is more so visible in the sunlight. The instructions are on the label like it would be on a medicine container (you just peel it off and it has about 12 inches of good information attached). I mix mine with an egg or two for protein, cherry tea to pull more red, and a tablespoon or two of olive oil. I sleep in it with a shower cap- it smells like hay and once applied makes your head feel ten lbs. heavier but the result will get you countless comments on the beauty of it. Put some vaseline or lotion around your neck, ears, and face so you won't be stained red. If you're applying it with your girlfriend dont drink wine, you'll only get halfway through.
