A blender made to last!
Very well thought out design without all the bells and whistles you don’t need! I look forward to using it for years! It’s made very well with a very thick glass carafe that has slack on the stand so you don’t ware out any gears…….smart!

It leaks, and it cannot be DIY repaired with simple tools.
I ordered this product because it is USA made, commercial quality, and has a retro design. After using it to make smoothies, it began leaking out of the bottom. I searched the internet in hopes of a solution, but found little information. I tried to loosen the nut holding the blade while holding the "wagon wheel" at the base, but nothing budged, so back it went to Amazon, using their awesome return policy. Hopefully Waring can come up with a solution, because I found several reviews indicating he leaking is a problem. Other than the above issue, it is a nice blender with a lot of potential.

Excellent blender for the money. On the Barefoot Contessa essential list
I am an avid cook and I love this blender. It is just the right size for me, looks beautiful and works effortlessly. I have made sauces and drinks and smoothies with it. The blades have had no trouble with frozen fruit of many varieties. In less than 15 seconds I make a smoothie each morning. I love the glass container as it is easy to clean and healthier than plastic. I use an immersion blender to purée soups so I would have no comment on that with this blender. Please do not compare with a Vitamix, that is a whole other type of blender and 4 times the price to get a good model. This blender is on the essentials list of the Barefoot Contessa’s website highlighting essential kitchen tools. I love it!

Great blender, simple design, small footprint
This is my second Waring blender. The first was a gift and lasted for 25 years. The motor still worked in the old one but at the time a part was broken and was cost prohibitive to replace. After trying another blender for a few years I went back to this model Waring as it should last me the rest of my life.

A glass blender that works so well
The design and control is so simple, but this glass blender works so well. I purchased the cuisineart old model and Hamilton glass ones before, but their engine were just not strong enough for my desired smoothie compared to the plastic pricy blenders. So glad to find a glass one!!! No more micro plastic!

Worst Amazaon Purchase to date
We have only had this blender for two months and the blender blade broke. We used it once a day to make our morning smoothie. I bought this over the other blenders because of the good service I had with a Waring blender in the past. Obviously, not the same quality. The real pisser is if I had bought this at Costco or Sam's I could just return it and get something else. With Amazon you don't have that luxury. You either find a Waring repair shop, which there are two in my are one downtown Fort Worth and one in the warehouse district in Dallas, both only open M-F, 8-5. Imagine that, when most of us also have to be at work. Waring is definitely not what it used to be. Expensive lesson. I don't know that I'll purchase an item like this off Amazon again.

The best device I have ever bought in the USA.
This is my first review I've ever made and I'm doing it because this product deserves all the respect it deserves. With so much waste of raw materials and conscious overload of plastic mill that is sold to the human body. Is this product really the best for the environment and the body? I'm so proud of waring, who really put a lot of effort into developing a product that is good for people. Thank you and I am proud to have bought such a device. I hope that over time there will be many other products on the market that are just as good as this one. I would choose to buy this product again anytime. It is worth the money.

Hmmm
Beautiful Art Deco/classic designed base (plastic, but well covered with stainless steel so it feels like a solid metal base). Highly chrome polished stainless steel. Beautiful heavy glass blender container. Feels good in the hand, heavy and solid. No plastic junk that will scratch and stain in the course of use. Long, heavy duty power cord. One nice silicon covered toggle switch for both power settings. Wonderful feel to the hand. Classic metal name plate riveted on the front around the power switch. It is an aesthetically pleasing device to use and look at. It was able to crush ice cubes very well. Made a very fine snow cone-like ice, perfect for frozen drinks. Our only complaint; the blender container only holds 40 oz right to the brim... we need some headspace to make our smoothies and cooking sauces/marinades. Also seems to blend best with 10-20 oz of fluid in it, with more it doesn't pull solids into the vortex well enough.
