Shakespeare is awesome!
The play was tragic and itβs a enjoyable to read a classic piece of literature. I found it profound and poetic!

One of the more intense plays by Shakespeare
Somehow, I missed this tragedy when I studied Shakespear's work in college. Well, was this an eye-opener! The topic is revenge, and it gets nasty, quickly. I was surprised at the depth of sheer hatefulness propagated by both sides in this very sad tale. The work was rather short, and although I usually love the poetry of the plays, this one wasn't the most impressive I've read. That said, I still enjoyed it, perhaps more than it deserves, (maybe?) only because of the shock factor. I'll have to think about that a little longer.

Free Kindle edition not the best, but it's free ~
Some formatting errors aside, it does stick to the script. Like many other free Kindle Shakespeare downloads, it seems this is based off the same version and formatting as the Project Gutenberg website (also free). I would highly recommend putting out some money for the Pelican version if you like this play and want a quality version with footnotes and analysis. Titus Andronicus (The Pelican Shakespeare) But the kindle edition was free and portable, so it's pretty hard to not recommend it.

Shakespheare's Most Brutal Tragedy
Probably the most violent book I've read, and I read Game of Thrones. Do not read it you're sensitive to violent themes. If you can handle the violence than it's an enjoyable quick read. One of Shakespeare's hidden gems. I didn't find any of the characters very likable so I took a point off, but this wasn't very important because it says tragedy in the title and oh what a splendid tragedy it was

Bloody good!
This has been deemed a poor, early effort by the Bard. It doesn't have the character development of a Hamlet or Othello, but I think it has been undervalued. I was pleased to see online there are critics who have praised it of late. The Julie Taymor movie, Titus, is a masterful rendition.

A bucket list item completed
Shakespeare the master of tragedy wrote an amazing play. When about halfway through it, I relate to a friend how current dramas pale in comparison to the intrigue and tragedy involved in Titus Adronicus.

Great Book for Drama Club/ Playhouse Use
This is a slim book making it easy for a director/club leader to carry around with them. Titus Andronicus is a gruesome story & while I wouldn't recommend the story to others if you're already planning to use it, this is a great printed version. The pages are uncluttered making it easier to focus on the lines your reading. Also, it would be great for those who need to run copies of the play for cast members. The pages are not "tear-out" but they are set up in a way that makes them easily reproduceable.

Cool story
Bloody and gruesome as heck. Good, thick plot but it's contents might make the faint of heart uncomfortable, resembling a story such as that of Sweeney Todd.

Totally Gruesome!
This play is the most violent of Shakespeare's plays that I have ever read - there's gore, murder and decapitations, rape, treachery, revenge and tragedy. It's a good play up to a point provided you can get past the more unpalatable happenings. However certainly for Titus Andronicus to spend his life serving Rome and for it all in the end to count for nothing but treachery and tragedy was actually very sad.

A play of intrigue
The Tragedy of Titus Andronicus is a marvellous play. It is a play that portrays the tragedy of dramatic changes in society and also how the social connections in that period are managed. The complete play is a continual array fight for recognition of political and social power ensues throughout each act.Often overlooked, this play shows the lengths people are willing to go to in order to achieve their ideal state of order, community and belonging.

Good
I have wanted to read this since I heard it was about abusive sex and gratuitous violence. It is indeed about abusive sex and gratuitous violence, but is also a very good and, surprisingly for Shakespeare, an easy read.

not enjoyable
I can see why this is a play that almost never comes to the stage. Such blood lust and despair. It does make me wonder how WS got the idea for such a web of lies and treachery. It amazes me that the same mind conceived this and Midsummer nights dream. Not enjoyable to read.

brilliant!
wonderful book... especially for the price :) I bought it before going to the play in Shakespeare's globe, and I am happy I did so. There are no typos I could note of, the ebook quality is also very good.
