vast improvement in performance
I have a 1979 Orrion Oriole 19V, she's the only one in existence still on the water, she's in mint condition, and I just rebuilt the lower unit. She has an OMC 260 with an upgraded Holley Carb, and MSD HEI ignition so she's a little rear end heavy. I added this hydrofoil during the rebuild figuring I'd at least reduce some cavitation and get a little more stability pulling skiers and tubes. Boy did i ever get that, and more. My boat now plains out at 16mph on average, i can get her to plain at 12mph in dead calm water. I also noticed almost no bow bouncing/porpoising, and the steering wasn't effected at all and she turned just as tight as ever which is one of my favorite things about the old boat. There was also a marked improvement in fuel economy and speed. 54mph at 3000rpm in light chop. The engine stayed nice and cool the whole time, and the hole shot is amazing. It's like i put a completely different drive on her. A must buy for anyone running an OMC Stringer or Merc Alpha 1, and would be an added improvement for any outdrive, even a Bravo 3. If you have a sporty boat, pull skiers tubes wake boards etc, just like good fuel economy lower plain speed and better hole shot, you would be an idiot not to buy this product. It took me 5 minutes to install too. My only recommendation to the manufacturer is to provide longer bolts, i put different bolts on mine because my old cavitation plate was super thick. Other than that, excellent product, it made a 35 year old boat out perform brand new boats with more power.

Fit great, improved stability, gets on plane quicker, and the cavitation trail seems to be smaller.
Easy to install, perfect fit on my Verado 150, quality seems good, and judging by the other ones in the marina of the same brand that have been on for years in the Guam sun, the durability will be no problem.

Made a huge difference/improvement for Irish Wake.
I installed the SE Sport 300 Hydrofoil on my 24' long 2008 Glastron DX 235 deck boat. I am running a 19 pitch 16' Mercury Vengeance stainless steel prop from an SEI 116 sterndrive. The entire package is powered by a 250hp Mercruiser 5.0 EFI. I used the Sport Clip since I didn't want to drill into my cavitation plate. I had to modify the foil slightly by opening the yoke portion with a grinder. The manufacturer expects this in some applications and states that it does not void the warranty. Now to the performance; This is a heavy boat that I believe was underpowered from the factory. That being said, the SE Sport 300 made all 5500 lbs of boat, equipment and passengers JUMP out of the water from the hole. Within 4 seconds, Irish Wake was on plane and there was no hint of RPM letoff once there. I can stay on plane all the way down to 14 or 15 MPH (GPS) when I had to be at 19-20 mph. And once on plane the porpoising is nearly eliminated. I also can use my engine trim with the foil when previously it was irrelevant. I installed the SEI Summit Drive Shower at the same time and had to do some creative engineering but all is secure and functional. The manufactures boast a four point securing technology for their clip. I took the stainless steel tab that secures to the annode mount and is supposed to have a small amount sticking aft, hidden by the foil, and bent it around the rear of the foil. So now it has a five point security system. Buy this if you want a meaningful, easy shade tree mod for your 40-300hp rig. Buy the drive shower too. You won't be disappointed.

It works ok, didn't solve my ventilation problem
I put on a 90HP Johnson that is on my 24' pontoon. It helps a little with trim and maybe it gets on plane faster? My big thing was I leave my toon in brackish water so it gets barnacled and shaggy. This is a drag on the engine and after a month or so, I get a pretty bad ventilation problem where the prop breaks connection with the water at say 16 mph. I was hoping having the hydroplane above it would help resolve, at least a little. However, it did nothing to help with this. zero. I don't want to blame the product for this, but I was sold on this being part of what it helps with, and it doesn't, not in my case

The best designed hydrofoil that I’ve seen
I decided to use the no-drill option and bought the Sport Clip together with the SE300. The company has two YouTube videos on installation of the sport clip so I knew it was going to take some time. I spent about an hour installing that part to make sure I got everything absolutely perfectly correct. The YouTube videos do a wonderful job explaining step-by-step what has to be done. Installing the hydrofoil itself was a breeze as the only thing required is to install four washers and tighten down four locking nuts. The finished installation is extremely sturdy and rigid. On our Lowe 21 foot tritoon with 115 hp motor The hydrofoil helps get the boat on plane quickly even when the boat is loaded down with six adults and four children. It was a struggle to make that happen before but now it is done easily. I tried two other hydrofoils before this one and felt that their installation was far less than ideal. One of them used only the trim tab to secure the hydrofoil and the other used a different method but neither was as secure as the SE 300 with Sport Clip. I certainly haven’t seen and tried every hydrofoil on the market but this one is extremely well designed and very well engineered. As long as you take your time and follow the YouTube videos you should have no trouble installing this on your boat.

Great Improvement! Works on Volvo Penta SX Stern Drive with large diode.
I needed my boat to plane faster with my smaller 3.0 L Volvo Penta SX stern drive. Some previous reviewers said the Se Sport 300 wouldn't fit this type of drive with the exhaust located directly under the cavitation plate along with the larger diode. I got it to fit very well and the boat planes super fast without the bow rising up high. You will need to reverse the diode so the fat end faces the bow of the boat. Keep the bolts for the diode loose, slip the Sport 300 under the diode and push it forward as far as it will go. Bolt down the diode (it will make contact with the SE Sport 300) making sure the Se Sport 300 is centered. Mark your drill holes. You will need to purchase two 2.5 inch stainless steel 1/4 inch wide screws for the drill holes in the front that go all the way through the exhaust (these two longer screws are not included in the packaging). Now just follow the standard installation instructions. This thing made a huge difference on my boats performance!!

Quicker out of the hole, otherwise hard to tell a difference
I mounted this on a Yamaha 150 V6, with a Lund 1800 Fisherman boat. Prior to installing this the boat would really raise up in the bow when launching, and it took a while to level off out of the hole. Once this was installed, it planes MUCH faster, with much less bow rise. I played with the tilt a little and didn't see much difference once I was moving. My boat holds a plane at low speed anyway, so it is hard to tell if this changed that. I also didn't see any impact in steering, either easier or harder. For me, it is worth it just to have the boat plane without the excessive bow rise. Installation was easy; drill 4 holes with the template provided and bolt it on. All of the hardware was included and it couldn't be much simpler to install.
