LH-18600 Adhesive Backed Metal Indoor/Outdoor Installation Hooks (15 Hooks)

I used this to attach to an 18' extension pole to attach the hooks under the eaves of my two story house. The process to do so was very easy.The attachment for placing the hooks is cleverly designed with a pair of magnets to hold the metal hook in place as it is sent up, but not so strong as to not release the hook once mashed into place.The light hanging hook worked like a charm also; there was no real fuss with getting the string up to the hooks.As for the hooks themselves, they have been hung since Thanksgiving weekend. Living in central Kentucky means they have so far been exposed to sub freezing temperatures multiple days and some pretty heavy rains with not a single hook coming loose.I refused to get on a ladder to climb two stories and was still able to string lights across 30' of roofline. Even if it weren't a two story house or you were willing to take a ladder up there, this is likely a more efficient way as you don't need to climb the ladder, hang a couple hooks, go down the ladder, move the ladder, go up the ladder, hang a couple hooks and repeat... Just get a long enough extension pole and you're good to go.

Some of the hooks have fallen off within a short amount of time. Others seem to be holding well. Overall, they are worth it. Easy to install.

I was skeptical about buying this just b/c many reviewers complained about the hooks not holding. When I searched around there was nothing competitive with this so I gave it a shot. Instead of relying on the basic scrubber and the 3M adhesive, I picked up some all weather super adhesive and applied a dab to each with a caulk gun. Get the stuff that has “instant grab” so you can apply easily (Loktite product), but there’s plenty of options in any hardware store that work. The light magnetic attachment is brilliant, just strong enough to apply without yanking it back off. I used a 12 ft extension pole to apply many of these to my 2nd floor peak and gutters and it worked perfectly. Hanging the lights took a bit to figure out but once I got the hang of it it was easy.... especially if hanging long heavy strands, you’ll want to hook up a few spots temporarily 25% of the way down just to relieve some of the weight from the end your trying to rig. Now that the hooks are up maybe next year I won’t actually dread hanging lights b/c it’ll take me half the time. Took me about 2 hours this year but I really took my time figuring out new lights. I even bought 7 additional packs of hooks to store away for whenever the day comes that I need gutter/siding replacements!

Initially I rated this product highly, however, after 2 days the hangers started falling down. I was worried that they would not stick well enough to the house, but this is not where they failed. The hangers failed because the high strength tape fell off from the hangers themselves leaving the tape stuck to the house. After 5 days 30% of the hangers have come down. I have since replaced all hooks with stainless threaded hooks. I put them up by renting a 40 foot ladder.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

I really liked the way the hooks went up as I was able to stand on the ground and hang the hooks myself. I cleaned the area where my hooks were to go then put up my hooks. But the hooks would drop off when you hung the lights. Then I had to order more hooks to redo what I lost on the ground. I used Loctite glue on the one's I could reuse and on the new ones. But I still had a strand of lights that fell before Christmas was over. So now need about 30 more hooks to redo what I lost.

My wife and I spent a weekend trying to get the best out out of this product with no luck.I would give it 1 star but some of the issue was that we have such a high roof line and had t use a 24' painters pole and working with it wasn't easy.We had a rd time getting the angle right but when we did the hooks would stick, however when it came time to hang a strand of lights (lightweight icicles) the hooks would start to pop off and only a couple would stay put.In the end I ended up renting a 30 foot ladder and installing permanent hooks.

I was looking for something to hang my lights from my farmers porch, after having trouble with squirrels eating my lights when I wrapped the lights around the posts and hand rails. These hooks were amazing and did the job. I needed something that would hold the weight of the lights and also hold up to the outside weather of New Hampshire. I hung the hooks on the underside of the overhang of the porch and suspended icicle lights from them. This was 4 days ago. We have gone from day temps in the 60's to night time temps of the high 20's and all the hooks seem to still be firmly in place. They adhere with 3M 2 sided heavy duty foam tape that is already attached to each hook. You just have to peel the backer off and stick. I did clean the surface first and let it completely dry. These are metal hooks. I will update if any fall. Hopefully they won't. And, so far, no squirrels have tried to eat them. :-)

These are great for hanging outdoor Christmas lights. We were able to use the Light Hanger Pro along with these and hang our lights without ever using a ladder. Love the fact that they are magnetic, making them super helpful and easy to hang. They stayed up well. Can't wait to hang our lights from these next year.
