Our cats LOVE this cat food. When we got our cats a year ago, we tried several cat foods- our main concern was to feed them something from a reputable brand that used high quality ingredients. So we looked online for lists of such food (this brand was on there), and also tried the various foods that our "new cat owner" coupon book from petco had (also there). I should say our cats tried maybe 6 different brands of dry food, and they both just LOVE this stuff. They took to it right away. So much that one of our cats, who used to love wet food, just begs and begs for this kibble when we "treat" our cats with wet food. If we accidently buy a different brand, that cat will reluctantly eat the kibble, but our other cat will resort to begging and stealing food from our plates/mouths, never touching the food. Of course, as soon as we swap back to this, they go for it and the begging stops. While our default is this formula, our cats also really like the other dry food from this brand- they just seem most excited about this one. While this is minor, I do like that the kibble is shaped like pluses- it seems to roll away a lot less than the round stuff, making it less likely to find stray kibble on teh floor (or the cats just gobble it up because they like it so much). Be aware, when it arrives put the box in a high up place- our cats can smell it and if left on the floor for the day while we are at work, we come home with the amazon box destroyed, a hole in the bag, and kibble all over. (Never did that with any other kibble). Totally worth the price. Your cats will love you.

My cat Stella loves lamb. She was on a well known, respectable brand dry lamb food but I wanted something with higher quality, more nutritional ingredients, yet still affordable. Any cat owner knows cats are PICKY!! Well I have to say all 3 of my cats are happy with this, and it wasn't for just a day or two because it was something new. They continue to eat the Solid Gold Lamb daily for weeks now without any adverse reactions. The kibble is a great size for all life stages but especially if you have a senior or a very young cat.

I literally just received this in the mail 15 minutes ago. My cat hasn't had kibble in a couple of days, only wet food, so he was really excited; however, he is the pickiest eater in the world, so I was worried he wouldn't like this kibble. I have purchased many different types of food for him and he's turned his nose at most of them. Lots of money down the drain. But this kibble...when I pulled the unopened bag out of the box, he immediately started sniffing excitedly. I poured some out into his bowl, set the bowl down, and he immediately started eating it. This cat barely devours kibble this way except this one brand I used to buy for him that isn't all that healthy for him. He just finished a bag of Nature's Variety Instinct Grain-Free Dry Cat Food, which he really would only eat if he was really hungry, and the kibble pieces were too small. He likes bigger kibble pieces which makes it easier for him to chew. I've noticed if the kibble are just tiny round pellets, he just swallows them without chewing. So this Solid Gold kibble is bigger and has a shape to each pellet that helps my cat to chew. I could hear him crunching away after I set the bowl down in front of him. I can honestly say I am thrilled that he loves this stuff, plus it's healthy for him and the price is perfect for a 4 lb. bag. I like that this is not filled with by-products and ingredients that I don't want him to ingest. I will absolutely be repurchasing!

It's expensive....don't believe anything else. My 2-year old boy has become a kitten again. He's a big boy: 22-25 pounds and not an ounce of fat. My Blue Boy.

This is the only food I could find for the longest time that had neither potato, nor tapioca & no fish or poultry! I couldn't believe it! Starches are terrible for the digestive system of cats & my poor baby is allergic to fish & poultry! Unfortunately, it looks like we'll have to say goodbye as this food ultimately exacerbated her FLUTD issues (the rice & lack of sodium bisulfate), but I'm so grateful that it was a good staple to lean on these last few years after discovering her allergies!

Good quality ingredients and my cats seem to like the food

My cat has an allergy to chicken. This is one of a very few dry cat foods that do not contain chicken in some form. I hope they keep it in stock at a reasonable price.
