Nice machining, looks OEM!
The machining and tooling seem to be top notch. My copy does fit snuggly within the hot shoe, however I know over time anything friction fit seems to find their way of falling off, so I added a little bit of gaffers tape to help secure it further. The item is quite expensive for what it is but it is well made, and color matched to the camera body, and has extra engineering to still use the app the dials. So the price seems to be justified and added more grip to a camera body that is relatively slick.

Gamechanger
Absolute necessary accessory for your Fuji. Completely changes the ease of holding one-handed. Folding function is critical and works very well. Retention is good and does not swing without finger initiation. Pricey but well worth it.

Works Well For Me
One of the reasons someone purchases the Fujifilm x100 series is its size. Unfortunately, depending upon the size of your hands, its small size can make the camera somewhat difficult to hold and control. A thumb grip has become a "go to" addition to help overcome some of the small size issues. To me, the Lensmate Grip has been the best designed and manufactured of the group. Unfortunately, in order to make the rest comfortable it has to be a certain size, a size that blocks the rear command dial when the grip is in its extended position. To make matters worse, I have selected that command dial to be a function button that gets me directly to my white balance settings. Thankfully, the rest's swing function allows me good access to the dial when necessary.Value: Is $60 too much for a machined piece of aluminum even with a hinge? Maybe. But, on the other hand, I added .05% to the cost of a $1400 camera to make it more user friendly. It was a good investment to me.

Best Thumb Grip for X100v
Expensive, but worth the cost to pair with the X100v. Not worth going 3rd party. The fact that this thumb grip can flip out so that you can have more access to the button and knobs on top is my favorite part.

Quality item
Feels very secure. Hight quality. It’s hinged so you can move it easily to get to the camera controls when you need to.

The articulating hinge provides easy access to all the controls. Feels great on the thumb.

Best Thumb Grip for X100V
So here's another pricy little item for the X100V and I initially planned to pass on it, but after overpaying for a lens hood, I figured, "Why stop being stupid when I'm so good at it?"So 60 bucks later... the Lensmate Thumb Grip (It's really a "rest") was sitting in front of me.It comes in a pretty box and presentation matters for things that are overpriced. The good news is that it's VERY well made. It fits snugly and the hinge is buttery smooth. Nice. The rest area has a small rubber pad and there's also a rubber stopper on the underside to protect the camera. The only issue is that it does block the rear command dial to the point that I typically flip the rest back to access it. I don't think it slows me down in actual shooting, so it only bothered me for a few minutes until I adapted to it. Overall this is the most comfortable thumb grip/rest/hotel you'll ever use. It's like a thumb vacation and your other thumb will be very jealous and likely protest. Is it worth 60 bucks? I'd have to say YES because it's the best of the group, but the price is rather silly, even if the little box it comes in has a magnetic closure. I've spent far more on bad dinners with bad people that gave me bad gas.**** 1/2
