I bought this book because my wife had found a copy of it in her language and so we were using it to study together. That's important because there are a lot of these types of useful books but many of them don't get picked up and translated into other languages.It's a bit gimmicky for my taste but at the end of the day, whatever - I don't care, if it works, it works. Some of the stereotyping in the examples make me bristle but I guess they apply to someone somewhere. Anyhow I could take ownership of the concepts and apply my own examples and so it is malleable enough to do that which is a credit to the book.Buyers need to know that some of the language is couched in religious terminology, so if that sort of thing shuts you down you need to bring an open mind to this book and consider its concepts on its own terms or good luck to you.The thing with the gimmicks (like blue hearing aids for the way a man hears things and pink hearing aids for the way a woman does) is that when temperatures rise and adrenaline starts pumping and your rationale has flown out the window, these cute little code words can be useful anchors to bring that energy into its most useful direction.If both partners have a large dose of humility and enough goodwill, I recommend this book to smooth out the rough patches in communication.

Book arrived on time and in excellent condition. Would by from seller again. Having said that...this is one of the best book I have ever read regarding relationships. It's simple to understand. This book has helped my wife and I to deal with disagreements and other issues in our marriage by being more understanding and effective communicators along with applying God's principles to our marriage . I highly recommend this book to any couple who wants a thriving marriage. I would also recommend this book to people who plans on getting married. God is good all the time!

I am reading this book, along with my girlfriend, and it has helped us a lot already. It has made us aware of how different we can be not only in how we say things, but also in how we interpret each other's messages. We are finding ways in which we can improve as a couple, without falling into what the author calls the Crazy Cycle. It was written for married couples, but anyone can benefit from it, especially if you are in a relationship.

Definitely puts some things into perspective. I wasn't overly impressed by this though.

This is a must-read for anyone in a marriage or relationship with the opposite sex. Also helpful when raising children of the opposite sex to understand how they are wired. This book has taken our marriage to a much higher level.

It is a great book. The only problem with it is I can't convince my wife, through the communication techniques, that a Ferrari is a wise investment.

After reading the book, I realize that marriage is a spiritual path. Marriage is a relationship that tests me to reach a higher spiritual plane and to connect with God. I really liked Emerson's prayer of commitment. I don't normally buy Christian books and I had to "decode" a few things for myself to so I could relate to it, but after reading it, I have more appreciation for the nature of man and the nature of woman and how to respect and appreciate our differences. I also have more appreciation for the teachings of Jesus. Thank you Emerson!
