Acer Nitro VG240YSbmiipx 24 Inch Full HD Gaming Monitor (IPS Panel, FreeSync, 165 Hz (OC), 2 ms, DP, HDMI, Black)

I've recently purchased my first ever gaming PC and bought this screen to go with it, at £200 on a Prime Day deal i feel its excellent value for money. Okay, the HDR sucks, but for me at least, i dont really care. I've played alot of Battlefront 2 on Ultra Graphics at 120fps avg and this screen does an excellent job with the display, with everything looking crystal clear and virtually no motion blur whatsoever. Some people have set up dual monitors, i've opted to have just the one. Overall, for the price it works above expectations, so long as you dont care about HDR.

I'm really impressed and pleased with this monitor and I'm very glad that I decided to go for this one. I chose this one because of a Youtube video comparing the best budget monitors. I expected there to maybe be one or two dead pixels as I'm buying tech from online and it has to be shipped to me, I understand that when things are physically delivered they can break during the process and I'm cool with that, it's not the end of the world. But actually, there are no dead pixels. The screen is absolutely perfect, not a single defect. I was worried that there'd be some backlight bleed due to other reviewer's images and claims, but thankfully there is no backlight bleeding. Again, the screen is perfect. I did a ghosting test and it ran perfectly smooth, there was no ghosting. The screen refresh rate is 160 Hz just like it was specified to have in the listing. Many people think that monitors are exactly as advertised straight out of the box, but they're not. It doesn't mean the screen isn't 160 Hz, it just means that you have to manually set it to 160 Hz. I suspect that other reviewers here have not done that judging by their complaints. To do that, go to the 'system' section in windows, select 'display', scroll down and then select 'advanced display settings', scroll down and then select 'refresh rate' and set it to the correct one. Mine was set to 140 Hz, so I changed it to 160 Hz. As for the sound, it's definitely not great but it's pretty okay. It's definitely usable on it's own and it doesn't sound bad, per say, but if you're trying to make a great setup, definitely buy a separate pair of speakers. It's got a neat little joystick on the back so you can change the display's settings way easier, too. Which is definitely an appreciated benefit. Great screen for gaming! (I play FPS games mostly). Crisp and nice graphics, quite thin screen and doesn't take up too much desk space. The only comment would be slightly wobbly footing... would recommend mounting.

Great value for money, does everything it says on the box. Slight HDR issues on various games on PS4 but unsure whether that is the monitor or poor optimisation.

I use this for gaming, and it is absolutely amazing. The 165hz monitor is crisp clear. The brightness is adjustable via buttons and knobs on the back of the monitor. Easy to put together. The stand only clips on but is very strong and sturdy.

Son's purchase and he is more than happy as uses it for gaming.

It can support up to 4k at 60hz on xbox and 120hz on 1080p brilliant price to performance. For a 200 pound monitor its overclocking is increadible

De momento todo fenomenal. El color es adecuado y no viene mal calibrado como en muchos otros monitores. Es un monitor bonito pero no excesivamente ostentoso. Para ser IPS y de 144 hz muy contento con el precio bastante por debajo de 200€. Se me hace agradable jugar en el, habiendo pasado de consola a 60 fps. De momento si ningun problema. Por decir algo negativo, la altura no es ajustable y no trae cable hdmi, pero si un cable display port.

Premetto che non sono un esperto di monitor, in quanto questo non è altro che il primo che prendo. Dunque mi limiterò ad esporre le mie impressioni. Intento a migliorare la mia postazione gioco/studio mi decisi sull'acquisto di un nuovo monitor, essendo quello che usavo precedentemente un vecchio monitor 22 pollici della Acer 1200*1650. Dopo uno sfortunato ordine con un altro monitor il quale risultò essere non disponibile, mi buttai su questo modello della Acer. A primo impatto quello che colpisce è il designe semplice ma accattivante, considerando l'assenza quasi assoluta dei bordi. Il piedistallo devo dire che non è dei migliori in quanto stabilità, essendo che il monitor tende a oscillare leggermente quando muovo la scrivania, ma tutto sommato sono certo che non ci sia alcun rischio che il monitor si stacchi dal piedistallo. Passando alla parte più importante, ovvero lo schermo, non posso che non essere soddisfatto. Venendo da un monitor vecchio di 7-8 anni il salto di qualità è alquanto evidente, ma non posso dire di non essere stato contento anche delle sue funzionalità. Lo schermo è molto luminoso e l'uso del'HDR quando gioco rende i colori molto brillanti. È possibile modificare i settaggi dello schermo tramite il menù potendo modificare molti parametri per migliorare la propria esperienza(luminosità, colori, g-sinc... e altre impostazioni appositamente pensate per il gaming). Di per sé il monitor mette già a disposizione diverse configurazioni standard per diverse attività, ma non mi dilungherò su quest'ultime in quanto principalmente mi limito a usare la modalità HDR. Sfortunatamente non sono ancora riuscito a testare a pieno i 144hz poiché sto ancora aspettando di riuscire a prendere la ps5. Per quanto sia riuscito a vedere tramite il mio pc, per il momento posso limitarmi a dire che l'alto framerate migliora moltissimo l'esperienza di uso, tanto che ormai faccio fatica a tornare a utilizzare i 60hz. In conclusione, a parte il pedistallo e forse la presenza di poche configurazioni di default , non ho trovato altri difetti. Dunque mi sento di consigliare vivamente questo monitor. Mi riservo di modificare la recensione non appena sarò riuscito a testare a pieno il monitor con la ps5.

The monitor was an amazing experience paired up with the ps5 with 120fps at 1080p . Only proplem is that if you aren't using HDR the colours would be super pale . Alot of the little bonus features like a crosshair ,a fps meter and an amazing UI makes this a 5 star product. Hab ihn mir im Angebot geholt und bin total zufrieden. Im Vergleich zu dem Bildschirm, den ich davor hatte, der wahrscheinlich 2005 gebaut wurde, ist das jetzt der absolute Luxus. Schön einstellbar, wenn man von oben draufschaut und liefert super Bildqualität. Schön auch, dass er weniger Rand hat, was mich früher an Bildschirmen immer gestört hat
