Great carpet cleaner. We previously owned one for over 15 years, and it gets used on our house as well as on TONS of rental properties by my maintenance crew. The old one finally "died", so I replaced it, and the new one works like a champ. 5 stars. It's a simple, high quality, carpet cleaner

I ordered (2) these for my business. They are very effective at cleaning and maintaining carpets especially in small areas because the machine is smaller than most industrial carpet extractors and therefore can fit into corners better. Very good to have if you work in hotels as a HSKP mgr, or if you have an airBNB-- this will make short work of deep cleaning carpets in small carpeted rooms. I also like that it cleans carpets very close to baseboards without having to use the hand held piece. I would advise buying the separate handheld piece and hose because that allows the machine to do very detailed work and can complete projects other than carpet like upholstery/furniture deep cleaning, deep clean the interior of your car, carpets and rugs, mattresses. Use a low foam cleaning chemical or use a separate foam reducing chemical as an additive, too much foam can get into all the internal parts and create scum that will lower the lifespan of the machine. The final thing I will say about this machine is that it is incredibly user friendy. Everyone on my team has used this without issue as there is ease in maneuvering. There is a button to apply chemical and water as you are extracting and an emergency on/off button. The hoses/parts are easily changeable. Filling the chemical receptacles and emptying the dirty water bucket can be done in a few seconds. If you are cleaning an extremely soiled area, I would pretreat with a despotter or high traffic area stain remover first and let sit for a few minutes, run the machine over it while releasing chemicals, evaluate and run again if still soiled. I have also found that starting with fairly hot water helps to remove dirt better than just using cold water. Awesome ROI at the price point.

great carpet cleaner

I Purchased, a rug doctor rug cleaner from Home Depot and came to me damaged and would not turn on. I subsequently had to return it. I did purchase the rug doctor rug cleaner from Amazon. That machine came to me and leaked all over the place after I put the liquid in the water tank. I called rug doctor because they said in their manual that they inspected every unit before it left the factory. And they told me that because I purchased it the unit at Home Depot and Amazon and not from them. It was probably sitting in a warehouse where it was probably damaged. I really think Home Depot and Amazon should know exactly what rug doctor is telling customers. I actually did not buy the unit from Rob doctor because of the timeframe. It takes to receive it. Home Depot was three days and Amazon was two days. I really don’t think that the unit is getting damaged in warehouses but that’s what rug doctor is telling people. Other than that I purchased a third unit from Amazon and hopefully it’s not damaged. When the unit operate properly. It does an excellent job, cleaning carpet, and furniture.

AWESOME AWESOM AWESOM I HAVE SPENT MANY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON RENTING THIS MACHINE. I FINALLY BOUGHT ONE. I RUN AN ANIMAL REFUGE AND ACCIDENTS HAPPEN. OUR WHO HOUSE AND FACILITY DONE IN RECORD TIME AND SMELLING GERAT.

I read all the instructions and I found out that the machine does NOT have a power on/off switch. The user manual lists a caution of NOT operating the machine out of water. I feel that with no switch after repeated times of running out of water while cleaning, the pump will soon fail. You will have to run to the outlet and unplug the machine if you need to pause or stop. STUPID!! ALL of the online videos (outdated) show a switch. I contacted Rug Doctor & all they wanted to tell me was how to push/pull the machine thinking I had a rental with a power switch. I told them that I purchased this item. Still the CSU rep could not understand I owned the machine. Further, switches are installed on rentals but no owners models! Why? Be careful & warned about this defect. Update on Product. After trying to get an answer to the switch issue, Amanda from Tx gave me the answer I needed. What I misunderstood (my fault) was the instructions on the setting for carpet or hand tool setting. It was not clear that the 3 position switch DOES act as a power on/off switch. The left/right position starts the machine in the mode you select, carpet cleaning or hand tool. The center position DOES turn the machine off. Great! Finally, all of the contact attempts with Bissel (which claimed they do not make Rug doctor) & ALL the Rug Doctor web pages only gives a default 800 number which you do not know where it goes to the USA or the UK. SInce the mode switch is a 3 way, the center position is the "off" position, I will attempt to start cleaning my carpets. As far as Buyer beware, the instructions do leave a lot to be understood or misunderstood. The online videos may or may not show your model. Research carefully. I will update after using the machine to see if it lives upto all the hipe.
