Philips 241B7QUBHEB -24 inch FHD Monitor, 75Hz, 4ms, IPS, USB-C Dock, Speakers, Height Adjust, Webcam (1920 x 1080 - 250 cd/m² - HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, RJ45)

The screen display itself is okay - though nowhere near as sharp as my Macbook Pro 2018 retina display, just larger. On a par with my 2012 iMac perhaps & I regret not going 4K, even though they're a lot more money. Single USB-C cable to Macbook works well (lid open or shut) only if it's a 3.1 cable, so add another £12 for that. Came with a Euro mains plug. Power rocker switch hard to reach, esp. without getting finger marks on display front. Stand is poor & doesn't hold together well at all - doesn't inspire build quality confidence. Webcam is very poor quality & the speakers are really abysmal / unusable & tinny, probably worse than an iPhone on speaker mode.

This monitor has a good screen image. The "docking station" consists of various sockets at the rear bottom of the screen that are a bit awkward. But the thing that I noticed most was that the sound quality of the speakers in the monitor was very poor, markedly inferior to that of my laptop (and another laptop in our family which I experimented with). I took this up with Philips Customer Service, who responded quickly and helpfully, and eventually they asked me to send audio recordings of the sound on my laptop and the speakers. This I did. A long silence ensued, and I sent reminders. Finally I got a message apologizing for the delay and saying "Our Product specialist reviewed the case and judging by the soundclips, we don’t think this monitor is faulty. The sound quality is not as good as that of a laptop's speakers because of the different specifications of the speakers." My conclusion from this is that they should redesign the monitor with better speakers.
