Fantastic 4k uhd lg drive
I bought 3 of these. All lg not pioneer. Great reliable drives. Bu40n. Had to flash it to 1.03mk and then to de 1.00 to get full original unpatched rom installed. For 4k reliable ripping. Perfect great drives. 0 failures when burning discs. Have to do a bit of work to get it going. All info at makemkv website. Very easy yo flash. very reliable and 0 problems so far. buy one. Wish it was a pioneer is my only complaint.

Excellent - and LibreDrive compatible to boot!
I've had a few external DVD drives over the years including a full size external LG drive and up until recently it's been doing me fine, but it stopped agreeing with my Macbook recently and was taking up space and a plug socket. This drive fit the bill - USB-C (so it would run fine off one cable), blu-ray capable, slimline, and LibreDrive compatible for MakeMKV. And it works great! I spent a few days backing up all of my discs that I've got on my shelf and it chewed through them all no problem. Even read some scratched up ones just fine.Only thing is that due to ridiculous DRM requirements it's highly unlikely that I'll be able to play UHD 4K Blu-Rays using this drive, but it's not the drive's fault. Intel only included the extensions to play them in 6th to 10th generation processors, and the only systems I have are before or after that point (4th and 12th). My other systems are all AMD so I'm squit out of luck there. MakeMKV should make short work of that though, with any luck.

Reliable 4k Blu-ray Drive
Have used this drive for about 6 months. Mainly for reading blu-ray and 4k video. Also writing dvd and blu-ray. Not very heavily used, but has worked perfectly with no issues. Using with Windows 11 and Ubuntu. All good.

Works out of the box
Unit is nice and slim however it is slower than a desktop drive and can be a little noisy when initialising a disk. However this is to be expected and is common with slim drives. Overall I am very happy.Unit works great out of the box for MKV. For 4k playback you need to make sure your setup is fully compatible.Would highly recommend at around the £90 mark, especially as it has official 4k disk playback support.Unit comes with player, usb c cable and adapter, 25gb blank disk and software package. Once again a bargain for the price

Player is great. Windows support for blu-rays less so.
Bought this to watch 4k blu-rays on my computer. There's the rather annoying fact that Windows doesn't have software to play blu rays, even with a drive attached. So if you're just wanting to plug this in and go you're going to be disappointed and will need to buy expensive software or download some sketchy free software. But once I found some bluray software then this drive worked perfectly for both 4k and 1080p blu rays.

Drive snapped one of my discs - AVOID
I was looking forward to using this product as the majority of reviews were good.2 things though:1. It does not work straight out of the box and you will need to spend time and effort locating a decent "free" software to be able to watch Blu-Ray movies using this product. No way am I spending even more for another product to make this one work2. After all of that I tried watching a Blu-Ray movie. It started to play fine and then the movie froze and then the drive started making an awful noise. Closed everything down and ejected my disc to check it. My disc was partially SNAPPED in the centre!!!There was nothing wrong with the disc before I started, as I always eyeball the disc to make sure it is clean and free of scratches before putting it into any type of player—it was pristine! This player ended up costing me one of my favourite family movies, and my autistic son is melting down over it being broken, so now I need to order a new one for both of us.In conclusion, if you want to pay £90 for this product to snap your discs then this is the product for you, otherwise, avoid it like the plague. The fallout I am now experiencing is not worth it and this is being returned for a full refund.

Awesome blu ray player
I got recommended this model a lot, and I have to say it was a solid and hassle-free choice. Just plug it in and it plays blu rays no problem. Haven’t tried it on dvds yet though. Slim and comes with the cable to link it to my laptop.

Works with MakeMKV
I was after something that would allow me to rip my 4K Blu-Rays with MakeMKV and this does the job - worked out of the box, no need to mess with flashing different firmware or anything.
