Are these comfortable to wear without socks?

I wear my Puma slip on sneakers most every day for walking the dogs and for exercise classes 4 days a week. Most days I have worn these without socks. They are cool and comfortable with out rubbing my heels!

Are they machine washable?

I wash mine every week, I do take the padded sole out, then sit in the sun or on top of dryer to dry. They do great.
