Q: What size should I buy if I am a women's size 8?

My husband wears a XL and I got 3 pairs of XL and 3 pairs of L which were too tight. For some reason they send you 3 of each in size range instead of usual 6 XL or top of range. If you ordered a size s-m you get three small and three medium. Socks good quality but unless your foot fits in the smallest size half of them will be too tight.

Q: Please describe thickness?

They are the same thickness of the socks I use at the gym. They grip really well on the Barre carpet flooring.

Q: Are they tight around the ankle? Need the ankle part to not rub too tight against the skin.

The top of the sock doesn't come up that far on me so I really can't say. I really love these socks.
