Master Airscrew MA4000 Balsa Stripper

Q: Is this a genuine master airscrew balsa stripper, or is it a knockoff? does it come in master airscrew’s packaging, with their instruction sheet?

I don't remember what the packaging looked like. I also don't know if it is a knockoff. I may have saved the instructions, but they're buried in a deep tool drawer. All I can tell you is that it works great with balsa and if the blade is new, you can strip Popsicle sticks.

Q: Can this balsa stripper also strip mahogany strips?

It may work, f the wood were very straight grain, and I would believe would be 1/32 thickness or less. Probably would be OK for trim stripping. But it is really made for balsa, using Xacto type blades.

Q: I have 1/16” basswood I am interested in cutting into thin strips. Will this tool be able to slice my basswood into strips?

I haven't used this for basswood but, I don't see any problem with 1/16. For blades I recommend American Line #11.
