Steven Seagal: Lawman - Season One (2-Disc Set) [DVD]

The Seagal legend grows. How does one man fit all of this in!In the first episode we get to see Segal shoot the head off a match. "sometimes I can light it" he says.In the second we get to see Seagal training his attack dogs ("protection for my family" he says, like anyone would try and hurt Seagal's family after seeing what happens in Out for Justice and every other Segal film)In the third episode we get to see Seagal's blues band Thunderbox(playing a charity gig, natch).Apart from that it is basically Police camera action with Steven Seagal surreally in every tape. Basically the cops drive down to the same black neighbourhood every episode and pick up some hoods acting suspiciously. Seagal seems to have special crime vision that zeroes in on felons. Seagal attempts to instill some zen philosophy into the drunk criminals.Previously I had assumed that Seagal's accent was related to him coming from the deep south, but none of the cops or criminals speak like him, so that remains a mystery.Always bizarre to see US gun laws in effect. Seagal picks up a guy with a loaded handgun in his back pocket. However, it turns out that he legally bought it so he's perfectly entitled to wander around with it, and Seagal sends him on his way with an apology for wasting his time. Another guy has an illegal handgun, but still only gets a suspended sentence (minimum 5 years over here!). Seagal busts and arrests another guy for not paying his child support ("mothers need that money brother" he says).

This series is fascinating for any fan of Steven Seagal. It gives an insight into the man, it shows him at work and at home, in various situations. It would have been nice to see the great man more hands on, but this is reality and what was shot was what was happening. It goes again to show that Seagal has so many fascinating aspects to his life. I thoroughly enjoyed viewing this series and hope there will be another one.

Steven Seagal shows us that no one is above the law, and he really is out for justice. Sometimes he has to make an executive decision if he feels that he is on deadly ground and marked for death, but as some of the episodes show, he is still hard to kill.Basically, as another reviewer has mentioned, this is police camera action with Steven Seagal! The show documents his time as a deputy sheriff in the Jefferson Parish in the state of Louisiana. As well as highlights from his policing work, there are clips showing him training other members of the force in hand to hand combat and marksman ship. The show also highlights the charity work he does to help the local community. It is entertaining, and any fan of the big man will surely love this.

its just a less violent dog the bounty hunter. you're probably like i was were you want to see Steven seagal kick some ass,but no theres nothing like that.
