Odysea Greek PDO Kalamata Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tin, 3 Litre

I've used Odysea Kalamata Extra Virgin Olive Oil for years. To my mind and also that of a very well known Michelin Starred chef, Greek olive oil is the best in the world. Some oils are more expensive and some, cheaper but for consistent quality, a beautiful 'nose' and taste, Odysea Greek olive oil comes out on top. Now that I am widowed and don't cook and prepare as much food as I used, in re-ordering, I've swapped my usual 5 ltr cans for 3 ltr. ones. There's nothing like this glorious oil for drizzling over salads, pasta, pizzas, baked items, roasted Mediterranean vegetables, and for dipping (I don't add balsamic vinegar to olive oil dips). A word of advice: do not use olive oil for making mayonnaise or dressings. Vegetable oil for these purposes is best as it's lighter. Olive oil is so healthy and guards against heart disease. The can is easy to pour. Again, a short word of advice: to pour, turn the can on its side which prevents 'slopping', and use a funnel to save every drop! I'm delighted Amazon stocks Odysea Kalamata Extra Virgin Olive Oil and at a very reasonable price, too. The price of olive oil has risen steeply over the past year (2025 - 2026) so grab a can while you are able. My can arrived VERY safely packed and very quickly, too. I wanted to start taking olive oil daily for health benefits and this ticked all the boxes: purity, flavour, price. I know supermarket olive oil can be really expensive so I wasn't sure what to expect but I was really impressed with this olive oil. It has a great flavour, the peppery taste connoisseurs recommend, and I feel healthier for including it in my diet. Great olive oil at a reasonable price, I will buy again, thanks!

Recommended as pure extra virgin olive oil without inferior additives. Ample canister which should last me some time.

Tins have been dented but it hasn't affected the flavour at all, great olive oil for cooking. It was at a very good price comparative to Aldi or Lidl prices, but now the price has jumped up to £18, that's a pass from me.

Great taste, for dribbling over food and making an oil and vinegar dressing.

Excellent quality will buy again

This kalamata extra virgin olive oil is great. It's very flavourful, with a distinct peppery taste that packs a punch! One could argue that this may not be to everyone's taste --there are other extra virgin olive oils that seems softer. This one has a strong personality (like kalamata olives themselves!). I think it's one of the best extra virgin olive oils to use as salad dressing as it pairs well with other ingredients (I've used it with lemon juice, honey and salt, and also with red wine vinegar, maple syrup, lemon juice, thyme, salt and pepper for a hearty dressing). It is also excellent with a bit of balsamic vinegar to create a dip for pitta bread, naan and sourdough (once you start, you cannot stop!). It has a Taste award, which I think is well deserved and I totally here for it. I cannot recommend this enough.

This is my review of the Odysea Kalamata Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1L. I really like this product, so much so, that the first one has all been used, and I have now ordered another. I found it to be a pleasant medium strength, taste and aroma olive oil. When you get the can, you need to pull the tabs around the lid upwards and these make a pourer/spout that you can leave extended with it's cap on. With the spout out, the oil pours well and you just use it like you would with a bottle of oil, and it is possible to get a drizzle of oil directly from the can. I was worried that a litre might be too much but because I like this oil, I have used more of it than previously. I guess this is a good thing because I believe that the main reason that Olive Oil is healthy is because of it's polyphenolic content which has an anti-inflammatory effect on your mind and body. You get 1 litre for less than twice the price of the usual premium 500ml bottle you get in the supermarket. Happy to recommend.
