In Mord mit verteilten Rollen wird aus einem Mrderjagdspiel tdlicher Ernst. Eine Frau, die eigentlich nur das Opfer spielen sollte, wird tatschlich tot aufgefunden. In Tdliche Parties muss der Belgier schlielich eine mysterise Giftmordserie in Acapulco klren ... Diese drei Filme mit Sir Peter Ustinov, dem bekanntesten aller Poirot-Darsteller, verlagern die Handlung der Agatha-Christie-Romane in die 1980er-Jahre. Sie sind mit Faye Dunaway, Tony Curtis und David Suchet prominent besetzt. Suchet verkrperte brigens spter selbst 70-mal den Poirot in der bekannten ITV-Serie. TV Spielfilm meinte: Gut aufgelegte Stars veredeln den Krimi. Prisma schrieb: Allround-Genie Peter Ustinov als berhmter Detektiv, Faye Dunaway als Filmdiva, David Suchet als ratloser Inspektor [...]. Sie machen ihre Sache mit Witz und Humor sehr gut und halten die Spannung bis zum Schlusspunkt hoch. Dazwischen sorgt ein gemtlich-verschmitzter Peter Ustinov fr die typische, leicht beschauliche Agatha-Christie-Atmosphre, die Fans so sehr schtzen. Filmliste: 1. Mord la carte (Thirteen at Dinner) 2. Obviously the storylines may not be as perfect as one would like for these three films and I would say that death on the Nile and Evil Under the Sun much better films. However to complete the Peter Ustinov set these are good. I'm happy.

Standing alongside Suchet in the role is Peter Ustinov, and al;though he only made a handful of Agatha Chrisite films he is always worth watching for a very different (though in many ways similar) depction. A treat

You can select English & hear actual voices
This is the second attempt purchasing Peter Ustinov DVDs. Initially I tried to purchase DVD from company in the US because I wanted to have English speaking but they never delivered the product. Consequently I purchase the German DVD. Initially I was a little bit difficult to work out how to get to the English language but once you get there and you know what to do is straightforward and the films are in English as they were actually filmed. Obviously the storylines may not be as perfect as one would like for these three films and I would say that death on the Nile and Evil Under the Sun much better films. However to complete the Peter Ustinov set these are good. I'm happy.

Nowhere in the description of this item did it state that the films were dubbed into German. I looked back over the purchase details to confirm this. The only way to tell that it is in a foreign language is to look at the reviews. Many of those published also expressed disappointment that the films were in German. If you don't take note of critical reviews, what is the point of having them, and purchasers going to the time and trouble of providing them?

I wanna return this and get the English version with the least extra fee.
The surface of the English version quite resembles this German version. I was shocked to find no English subtitles on it. If it had, I would not request to switch.

Nowhere near as good as other Ustinov films in this genre
In my humble opinion, this is a very disappointing DVD. The original plots are rewritten almost out of recognition. Ustinov, of course, is brilliant but the supporting casts (no doubt having American audiences in mind) are sometimes quite weak. Such a pity after the other Ustinov successes as Poirot.Technically, the sound level goes up and down a bit, too.

The main language is German not English it will be dubbed!!!
Very disappointed, there was nothing on the description to say it was in German . The box shown on the site is English with English writing.. I know you can select English but this means it is going to be dubbed and everything will be out of sink ... really not impressed!

It would be just what I want if the base language was English, but there is no information given.
