Q: The label on the package says not to use this riveter with stainless steel or aluminum rivets. Then what type of rivet am I supposed to use?

Not True, I use mine specifically for rigging Salt Water Sail/Fishing boats. You could use Steel Rivets, but in my case steel would rust instantly. Ive have had mine since 2017 and use nothing but Aluminum/ Stainless Steel, and it works perfectly thru today in 2022! This unit is great because I can get it into gunnels which would be otherwise inaccessible! Use it with confidence my friend!

Great for smaller rivets

I love this tool but I ended up needing a larger size I need to do some 1/4 rivets and this tool doesn't go that large. The larger scissor type tool will do small rivets and large so I should've got that to begin with but I'm happy to have this still. Will work for most applications but if you have some larger rivets 1/4" or larger you will need a different tool.

A DeWalt tool that is true to the brand’s reputation (not all are, unfortunately)

Extra sturdy, the swiveling head is a nice feature. Obviously built to last. Works very well with rivets of all kinds. This said, not a tool for tight spaces with little clearance, as the head is really bulky.

Literally broke on first use

I have a lot of Dewalt tools and have had generally good luck with them all. Not this one. The tool broke on the very first rivet I tried to run through it. Very unimpressed with the build quality and feel, even if it hadn't broken. Really has me questioning my loyalty to the brand, in the future.
