You have to know EXACTLY where this works.
It's certainly possible that this is a problem shared by all autocatchers, but this can be a real pain sometimes. I think it probably has to do with switching networks, even exclusively using 5g / data. It works really well when you're not around neighborhoods or businesses. If you can find a big indoor place to walk around like a mall or sports center, you'll get a lot out of it there. When riding on public transit I noticed that it rarely disconnects on the road itself. It really seems to be proximity to a building that has internet. Not useful where there's no data either, though. Very, very, VERY situational.

Awesome gadget!
This egg is awesome for anyone who loves to play Pokemon GO, while on the go! It's useful if you travel around a lot for work etc and don't have time to pull your phone out to spin some pokestops, and to even catch some pokemon! I have caught some shinies as well, and would recommend anyone who plays to use this very handy tool! Battery life is good, connection was easy, and I would buy again!

You Gotta Catch Them All!!
This little device is pretty awesome. I’ve used it regularly over the past week and here are some of my thoughts. The Catchmon is easy to setup and honestly the design is really cool. Any Pokémon fan will love the way it looks! There is an issue here and there with the device disconnecting (which is kind of irritating at times), but if you are in an area with decent cell service, it works great. The egg will stay connected until it goes into “sleep mode” after an hour, so you’ll have to push a button on the screen to refresh it and the timer will restart. I wish you could turn that off, but I haven’t been able to figure out if it’s possible. You can select whether you wanna focus on catching Pokémon, spinning pokestops or both at the same time. The catch/spin rate seems to be between 40-60% and you can only use red pokéballs. You will go through them FAST, so prepare yourself to use coins to buy more or spend a while at a place with a lot of pokestops to build up your stash. You can leave the game on or turn off the screen, but I tend to have better results with the game on. Your Catchmon must be pretty close to your phone (less than 6 feet), otherwise it could disconnect. The device will beep at you a bunch too, which gets annoying, but you can turn off the sound. You will begin to build a LOT of stardust/XP. I’ve been catching about 60-100 Pokémon an hour (with JUST the catch feature) and I’ve attained 6 shinies and 2 hundos in 7 days (playing 8-10 hours at a time). If the catch and spin feature is turned on simultaneously, I’ve noticed that the results aren’t as good (each one works better independently). Though if you can find a location that has a lot of spawns, gyms and pokestops within the Catchmon radius, you can literally sit there with an incense and watch the amount of red pokeballs increase along with the amount of Pokémon you catch. You will have to go through and monitor your storage pretty regularly, otherwise you’ll max your storage out fast. I basically have it running while I do other stuff throughout the afternoon and evening. I’ve been using rechargeable batteries and rotating them every other night. You can battle, do raids and even trade while it catches Pokémon for you. It’s a safe alternative when driving through neighborhoods, though if you go over 20mph you won’t be able to get as much stuff. Completing research tasks are a LOT easier, especially with the ones where you have to find specific types of Pokémon, because it keeps going and going and going. I can’t wait to use this bad boy at a big event with a TON of spawns. If you play Pokémon GO on a regular basis and you want to take your game to the next level, this product is a MUST!

Relatively useful
Had this for over a week now. I picked it up on a Prime Day deal and saved a few bucks. This little thing came well packaged in a nice box. Aesthetically, it look awesome! People complained about it being bulky and the posted pictures I saw did make it look big so I was skeptical. To my surprise though it was quite small and fits snuggly in a jacket or purse(make my wife carry it sometimes 😅). Probably wouldn’t feel comfortable in a regular pant pocket but still doable. I like the fact it came with two different key chains. One D-ring type and one wrist key chain. A couple reviews said you can’t turn off the vibrate and sound but I did it with no problem. You can’t turn of the lights but I just keep it in the carry bag it came with so it’s not distracting. Easy to pair with a phone and has a simple light indicator system to tell you what it’s doing. It blatantly says it disconnects every hour because of the POGO which isn’t a big deal to me. POGO does have to run in the background or it will disconnect if you close the app. So it does drain your phone battery quick. I saw reviews complaining about it killing AAA batteries quick? I’m sure if you have it on all day you’ll going through them like candy. But honestly, if you don’t have incense on, or it’s not a peak spawn time like community day or an event you should have it off. I turn it on for events, comm days, and drives. Also three words to fix the problem of buying batteries. BUY RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES! It crazy, we are in the 21st century and have batteries that can recharge themselves 🤯. Lastly, it is mediocre when it comes to catching Pokémon. Somewhere around 2 out of 5 Pokémon will run away. That number wouldn’t be bad if it didn’t waste 2-3 red poke balls on each one. And yes, IT ONLY USES RED POKE BALLS. So be prepared to either buy or constantly be opening gifts if you’re using this. Which is another reason why it shouldn’t be on all this time. Over it’s decent and I will continue to use it. You can turn off one notification to make it only spin Poke stops and vice versa so that in of itself is incredibly useful. Hope my review helped someone out there! Best of luck trainers! Catch em all!

So far, worth it
It was a bit spendy for what it is, if it worked perfectly then maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. I’d say it works perfect about 90% of the time. The other 10%, is it won’t stay connected to my phone for more than 10 seconds at a time. No idea why it did this, it’s done this twice in the last month or so. I use it at least once a week, and for a while there I was using it every day. It seems to go through the balls faster than I expected, I’ve left it on and left it alone for an hour (by multiple pokestops; so it’s continuously collecting more red balls as it goes) and I only had about 15 Pokémon from that hour. But eh, it’s helpful for sure! It has caught a few shinies as well. I think of it as a supplement to the game, not something that will do it all for you. It helps on community days or long walks through a city.

Might work for you
I really wanted to like this product, but it wasn’t for me. Currently in the process of returning it. It just didn’t work for me and I’m not even sure why. It connected fine to my iPhone, it works. But the problem I had was, it didn’t catch any Pokémon. The success rate of auto catching was probably 5%, where as the other 95% were from Pokémon that ‘ran away’. I tried to use it on CD Magma, it did the same thing. I basically auto caught nothing.I originally purchased this based on reviews, but it just didn’t work for me.
