A very nice quality and functional baby gate.
I just bought my second gate. I bought my first one 2 years ago, but with baby #2 being a more exploring toddler we need another gate. You can adjust the gate to be as tight as you want in the doorway, which I like. Also, the 3.5 year old cannot move it when it is tight. I also like that it is wooden and made in the US and can be adjusted to be 26" wide which is nice for storage.

Not the baby gate youโre hoping for : /
Ok, so how about the manufacturer NOT staple the plastic parts bag between the mesh/wooden frame? So when you go to assemble the gate, you donโt need forceps to tear plastic bag remnants out of the frame bit by bit? Maddening. Same thing with the warranty tag. Granted, itโs paper, but still. It tears off sloppily and again, weโre using tweezers to rip bits of paper out of the frame. Also, this gate requires you to attach plastic cups to your doorframe in order to keep the gate in place and use it safely. Itโs also tricky figuring out how to move the dang slide. Each minute that goes by, Iโm regretting this online purchase more and more. If youโre looking for a simple, wooden baby gate thatโs easy to pop in place and use right away, pass on this one!!!

Easy assembly but difficult for custom fit
Bought these when my cat was hurt and we wanted to prevent him from going the stairs. Theyโre were easy to put up, but was a challenge for them to stay in place as the width of the molding on our floor bumped out just enough to prevent the top and bottom sides to be flush with the wall which caused it to not be super sturdy. Worked well to block the way for our cat, but wouldnโt use it to keep a baby safe

Best maker/style of this gate.
We've gone through many types of baby gates. We trust this gate at the top of our stairs to keep our baby safe, even when she pulls up and pushes on it. This evening, my two-year-old realized he could climb over it. Great. The good part is that the gate did not budge (I watched him on our security video) when he climbed over it twice. Our previous tension gates by other makers, came apart into two pieces and eventually, we were unable to put them back together. This style has a safety lock, which we were annoyed by at first, but the ease of use was soon realized. The safety lock keeps the gate positioning from moving accidentally or the gate from sliding into two impossible-to-reassemble halves. With our other gates, we had to mark with sharpie the notch that the gate had to be at, in case it lost its notch positioning. No more! The wood is nice - no splinters. The plastic is as aesthetic it can be. The holes are an ideal size to keep baby toys or her little hands from going through. Our baby has never scratched or cut herself on the smooth plastic lattice. I do not see the potential for that happening either. Light-weight. Highly recommended.

The Worst
This is one of the worst consumer products I have ever had the misfortune of buying. You need three people to try to get it to work. Two people to try to pull it apart, or push it together and hold it in place as you desperately try (in vain) to put it between the door facings. The third person is there to pray for you because you will cuss enough to go to he!! 40 times. Absolutely useless as anything but firewood. Flimsy and impossible to fit properly and securely between two solid structures. Any baby or animal could easily push through with little to no effort. I should have sent it back but I thought someone in my household would be able to make it work. Alas! I was wrong. I even tried to get people outside of our (possibly weak??) gene pool to try to get it to work but no luck. Is this a joke? If so, not funny, as I could have at least wasted my money on something cute. Grr.

Suits my needs
Suits my needs. I dont have kids. Its just to keep the dog from going in my room. And it doesnt have to be sturdy. I dont use the lever and lock thing. I just slide it back and forth. Im too short to step over any of these things.
