how do you use the iorinse concentrate as a mouthwash?  how much do you dilute once ounce by?

ioRinse Concentrated Irrigant is not intended to be diluted as a mouthwash. It is intended to be diluted as an oral irrigant (1 part ioRinse Concentrated Irrigant to 9 parts water for use in an oral irrigator or water flosser).
Diluting it in that way is not the same strength as ioRinse RTU, which 100 ppm of molecular iodine and is formulated to be  a ready-to-use mouth wash. Diluting ioRinse Concentrated Irrigant 1:9 provides 30 ppm molecular iodine and is the correct pH for its intended use. If ioRinse Concentrated Irrigant was diluted less than 1:9 (in an attempt to match the same level of molecular iodine in ioRinse RTU, it would be too acidic for daily use.

No. A prescription is not needed to buy any product manufactured by ioTech International, including the ioRinse Concentrated Irrigant that you purchased from your dentist.

How much citric acid is in this? I noticed my teeth got sensitive after it. It's also super drying when using.

Citric acid is present in this concentrated solution at a level of 1.5%. The label directions call for the dilution of the concentrate by a factor of 10 (30 ml of concentrate to 270 ml of water). After dilution, the at-use concentration of citric acid would be 0.15%. Be sure to fully dilute the concentrate according to the label directions.

What's the duration of action of molecular iodine in this product? How long after rinse/irrigation does the bactericidal/virucidal effect last?

Some of the iodine is absorbed into the oral tissue and is released over a period of a few hours. There are many factors that can affect the duration of action, so it is impossible to provide a finite amount of time. As time passes, the level of protection is also decreasing, so it is important to always use good infection control practices.
