Great Dutch Oven!!
I have recently purchased 3 Lodge Dutch Ovens. They are a bit heavy, but I am nearly 75-years old, and I don't have a problem at all. I love this cookware! I've tried several recipes that require oven baking or preparing on my stove top. I like the fact that I can prepare most meals in the Dutch oven without using other pans or bowls. Furthermore, these Dutch ovens are VERY easy to clean! The red Lodge Cast Iron oven is beautiful!

Lodge is a dependable, quality product
It is heavy, of course. Cast iron cookware is heavy. Cooks evenly. Easy to use and easy to clean. The Enamel coating makes it a breeze to clean. I would recommend.

Ideal for Baking and Braising
Fantastic! I used it to make sourdough bread, and it baked beautifully with a perfect crust and even cooking. The dual handles make it easy to maneuver, and it’s oven safe up to 500°F. A durable, high-quality Dutch oven that’s perfect for baking, braising, and more. love the color!

Love LODGE products
The red is a beautiful color. Size looks perfect for what I wanted, cooking a medium pot roast, soup, or strew. Use and love LODGE products. Did much research and found this cooking pot to be substantial with a very competitive price. To order one day and receive the next day is truly amazing. Thank you AMAZON, I look forward to enjoying a yummy pot roast tomorrow.

Not the fanciest - but is very good, gets the job done and wont break the bank
If I were stranded on a remote island and could only bring one pot, it would be the Lodge 4.5-quart model. It’s a versatile workhorse that can handle baking, frying, sautéing, braising, deep frying, slow cooking, and even stovetop-to-oven cooking. I use it as a slow cooker in the oven. I also have a 2 quart Le Creuset, a 5.5 quart Staub, and a 7qt Misen. My favorite is the Misen because of all the creative dishes I’ve made in it. I use the 5.5qt Staub for bread baking, the cute little 2qt Le Creuset for small batch sauces, toasting spices, rice, reheating soups and leftovers, and the 4.5-quart Lodge for my everyday workhorse tasks. Cooking in or cleaning the Lodge is just as easy as its siblings. I haven’t had any chips or dings, and I only use wood utensils, so there’s no unexpected staining. The interior color of the Lodge is similar to the Le Creuset, a warm beige or cream. I sense that the Le Creuset has a better quality finish, but I can’t quantify it. This differs from the Staub, which has a black surface. The Lodge’s corner shape, where the side walls meet the bottom, is steeply curved, similar to but not as much as the Misen, which is almost flat. The Le Creuset is the most curved. The lid on the Lodge isn’t as refined as the other lids and allows for more steam to escape (I can’t quantify this though). However, I often make a parchment paper cartouche using it instead of using the heavy lid. The Lodge might not be the fanciest or most refined Dutch oven out there, but it’s very good. It won’t break the bank compared to other models and if I needed another 4qt, I get this Lodge.

Better than the French one
I bought this pop because the reviews were as good as find the more expensive French one. I use this pot at least once or twice a week. Very durable and so easy to clean up after cooking.

Braises Wonderfully!
I've had this Dutch oven less than a month and already I've cooked several dishes with it. All have been fabulous. Now, I'm wondering how I've done without a pot like this all of my life? This Lodge 4.5 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven with Lid and Dual Handles is professional grade and just the right size for our needs (there are only two of us in our household). I brown* my ingredients with it on the stovetop in prep for braising while the oven preheats to 310 degrees F. Then I bring the braise up to a boil, put on the Dutch oven lid, and slide it into the preheated oven. The pot simmers perfectly for hours at a time or however long I need it to with only a check after a half hour to see how the simmer level is doing. And Voila! the results are astounding. We love the color of our Dutch oven too (solid red) so much that we display it on our dining room table when it's not on the stove. I can't see how any of the fancy (and expensive) French brands can perform any better than this beautiful, American made, Lodge pot does. *Note: For sautéing ingredients, I use a different skillet so not to damage the enamel finish. The pot is only to be heated to temperatures under 500˚ F; therefore high-temperature sautéing is likely to damage the pot's enamel glaze. I also hand wash my Dutch oven immediately after using it. So far this has worked great in keeping its appearance, inside and out, beautiful.
